This book brings together a collection of some of the rarest and finest genetics in the cannabis world today. It focuses on many of the most highly sought after strains like the frosty Grape Stomper, the White, and other connoisseur varieties.

I am a huge fan of this book the bud shots make it way worth it. There are some fantastic pictures (see cover shot) from a great list of growers and breeders.

This is an incredible book. 100 cannabis seed breeders and 100 amazing strains. That has never been done before, and it is really amazing to see. This truly is The Bigger, Better Book of Buds and I highly recommend this book. Totally grassroots, too, so many interesting underground breeders in here. It is amazing.

If you are interested in marijuana strains, you really need to get a copy of this book. It will give you all the info you need to know if you're interested in indica strains, and if you want a solid coffee table book, you should grab a copy because the pictures are so crisp and sharp looking it is incredible! A definite must have for anyone interested in the plant.

If you have a friend that loves pot, get this as a gift. They will love it. Grab a copy. You will not regret it! Beautiful!

It's got everything you need: Genetic information on each of the plants (parental genetics, history etc.), cultivation information for each of the plants (tips from the breeders on how to grow the plant to its fullest potential), and, of course, information on what it is like to smoke/consume the plant, the type of high, potency, and effects. Incredible. No other book does it like this. If you like pot, get this book.

Peace.

This excellent little book serves both as a catalog, and an overview of the strains that are popular and available in the early 2010s.

It already acquainted me with the outlandish cold weather growth characteristics of the Mazar-I-Sharif. And the pictures of the Grape Stomper and it's trichome covered fanleaves and buds are insane.

I would recommend buying this book and future volumes to anyone who is in the weed business, or just wants to grow their own varieties, where it is legal to do so of course.

The reviewer bought this book as well as it's sibling book "Cannabis Sativa, The Essential Guide to the World's Finest Marijuana Strains" at the same time. Both stand out in books of this caliper since they offer a glimpse into the world of genetics that is quite broader than what one normally finds.

First, it should be mentioned that on the surface this is a "Bud Book". Much like other books in the same class the reader gets one page of description coupled with a large photo of a bud growing and bursting with trichomes. These books can be used in one of two ways:

1. The reader can simply use the book as a coffee table decoration or a "bathroom reader" and gaze in wonder at the photos as well as day dream about growing these fascinating strains.

2. The reader can actually USE the book as a catalog. Many reviewers of similar books have stated that one can find this information online for free but how is one to know what they are seeking? This book and it's sibling book work to solve this problem. By knowing what you are looking for the information finding process will become much easier.

Many readers will probably notice immediately that the strains listed as well as the breeders are uncommon or almost unheard of. This is where action will help. It is not going to be as easy for some strains to simply go to your favorite seed bank online and type in the name. The reader will find there will be a need to actually get in contact with the seed breeder itself and set up an order.

Some breeders are in other countries so there may be a need for the assistance of free online translators such as Babylon to actively hold an email conversation with them.

Having just purchased Marijuana Grower's Secrets: Everyday Tips, Hints, Techniques, and More for Bigger Better Bud I thought I should put in my 2 cents about Cannabis Indica: The Essential Guide to the World's Finest Marijuana Strains by the same author. I really didn't know much about strains before I picked up this read but I feel infinitely more confident when sourcing out the medicinal properties of each strain. The language used is so easy even a stoner can understand it but it doesn't insult anyone's intelligence either. I can truthfully say it IS an essential guide.

Great photography of Cannabis Indica, but I found much of the same talking points as in many of the web sites and in the newer books. If you are window shopping for some great Indica photo's this is a good source, but real growing info and plant/strain info is very difficult to cypher for growers looking for more growing/strain help. More information around indoor/outdoor growing and the typical medical uses of each strain would be of interest for the American medical marketplace.

Everything about this book, including the title and the author, is a simply an attempt by the publisher to get in on the growing cannabis culture and take some money from the community.

Title - Even though it is titled "Cannabis Indica", most of the strains listed in the book are hybrids that feature Sativa and Ruderalis genetics as well as Indica.

Author - S.T.Oner, a poor play on the word "stoner", is not in any way a person known in the cannabis community, but simply an editor who put together a collection of information from other sources. Unlike the Big Book of Buds, for example, which was written by Ed Rosenthal, a well known cannabis activist who has dedicated his life to the cause.

Strains - As previously mentioned, the book contains mostly hybrid strains from a short list of breeders, most of which are not well-known. Almost no California or Dutch strains.

Descriptions - Most of the descriptions are very generic, and provide no specific information when it comes to growing.

Photos - As far as I could tell, this book contains no original photos of buds. Most of the photos are easily recognizable and can be found on the web.

Reviews - Soon after I posted this review, I saw a bunch of positive reviews appear, all posted within days of each other and all singing praises to this book ;) Seems to me like a sad attempt by the publisher to fake positive reviews, as I do not believe anyone who knows anything about cannabis genetics would find this particular book to be of any value. Wonder how many of them actually purchased the book ?

So if you are interested in cannabis genetics, I would suggest Big Books of Buds by "Ed Rosenthal" or the "Cannabible" by Jason King - both are reputable names in the cannabis community and can be trusted (unlike this S.T.Oner lol) for reliable information.
