This book is based on some actual events that occurred when Sawney Bean was alive. Most of the characters in this book are dead, and others were made up. I created this book based on what I had researched, what I felt would have happened back then, and how I perceived the story. Sawney’s execution and the torturing of his family did occur. That he ate live flesh was true and also occured. Alexander Sawney Bean was basically the Hannibal Lector of Scotland. Unfortunately, back then witchcraft was not accepted behavior. They hanged people for the slightest moles on their skin, their lifestyles, disabilities such as blindness, or whatever they believed. People would flee their towns when such accusations were made against them. Some who considered themselves normal would accuse others who were abnormal and say that they were Devil’s children, and the more they eliminated the better. Today we use technology and doctors who understand these conditions of abnormality, and it is easier for society to understand such conditions.
