I wanted a book that show me how to preserve the food, so I came across this one and I decided to give it a try.
When I started to read it I realised that this was much more than I expected. It's a full guide, really complete showing the history of canning and preserving with lots of clear explanations. Show all the stuff you'll need for the whole process.
And great recipes.
If you're looking for a book about how to preserve and can your food, this book is a MUST. And its not just handy but very interesting as well!

Great book for beginners! We have already tried a recipe and it was great. We have been making our own bread for months and we just used the jam recipe on the bread, it was amazing!

This book is a serious disappointment. It is not ideal for beginners. It lacks measurements for ingredients--exact measurements and ingredients are imperative when canning and preserving--and for beginners, this is not the book to use. I have been canning for a few years and know how important it is to have precise recipes. I would not recommend this book for beginners or experienced canners.

I am relatively new to canning, so I bought this book to further educate myself. For a Beginners book, it could have been a lot more clear. More descriptive that is. The recipes look good, but as I read through them, some of the directions could have been described better. I think there are probably a lot better books out there for beginners. I was thinking of getting the one by Ball company, but did t want to cough up the money. As usual, you get whet you pay for.

Whether you want to prepare for the worst or just to have lots of high quality organic or natural food on hand you can't go wrong with canning, I never knew too much about it but I've had some homemade stuff every now and then.

I love the recipes here like the canned squash, garlic pickle medley and much more, plus it also tells you about what types of things you can use to preserve such as oils, salts etc. Great resource to have on hand!
