We run two of these for Kokonee in Colorado and Wyoming off a 13-foot boat and stack two or more lines off each. They are well built and perform perfectly. Wouldn't have anything else for a small boat.

Cannon gone cheap,

This review is from: Cannon Easi-Troll HS Manual Downrigger (Sports)
This item (Cannon Easi-troll) and the other unopened identical item are being returned because of the declination of Cannon's product quality over the past few years - their obvious effort to cut quality to continue to sell product. I am very disappointed.I have owned Cannon downriggers before, and these are by far the cheapest attempt to make their product. The assembly instructions in a few cases are vague, and the results from following them are poor. The product is cheap, and the resulting assembled product is not up to the standards that Cannon was known for. If they want specifics, here are a few: The little/bitty Swivel head screw heads were easily stripped BEFORE they were secured in their proper position. The boom mount Philips screw doesn't go in flush to the downrigger frame -- unless of course you strip the head of that screw too. Terminator mount design is awful - a pain to thread and hold itself into place. I never felt confident that it would be secure when I went fishing. Sloppy, cheap design! If the cable comes off of the pulley, good luck trying to get it back on! The earlier models were easy to fix this problem.
