Well Done War Game,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cannon Fodder (Game Cartridge)
This is a Gameboy Color game that is actually worth the money. It is a fast-paced war game with good graphics, realism, and solid controls.I hadn't heard of it until I walked into a Funcoland store and the dude recommended it to me. It is a must-have for the GBC!

A stunning technological acheivement,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cannon Fodder (Game Cartridge)
I just read about the game on the web, and I heard that it was good, so I bought it. It's a very simple shoot everything in sight type of game, and the gameplay is quite addictive; however, there's not variety, so you may not like it if you have a short attention span. You control two men, both equipped with machine guns with unlimited ammo. You can also find granades, jeeps, helicopters, and snow caterpillers, and "big guns" (huge guns that you set into and then launch explosives from) to help you. So far, it seems like an average game. But as soon as you turn on the GBC, you will soon realize its not. The opening is a comic FMV sequence (yes, FMV) that is extremely detailed, and if it weren't for the GBC's resolution, it would easily pass as a cutscene from a Final Fantasy game. It also has a song playing, and it is digitized and with voice, although the quality isn't all that great. (However, there are no more FMV sequences anywhere else in the game, except for the ending, but that's just a bunch of still shots.) But anyway, it's still stunning to see it on the GBC. And then, once you start playing the game, there are screams, shouts, explosions, and a bit of British humor ("My trousers are ruined!") whenever you kill someone, all in incredibly clear digitized speech, far clearer than the opening. And, the in-game graphics are quite detailed. The game really has to be played to be believed. On the down side, it's a bit frustrating whenever you lose one of your men, as you only get 10 more for every completed mission. But each of them will be stored in the memory game save, each and every one of their names, their number of kills, and how they died ("blown to bits," "target practice for the enemy," that type of thing). It's amusing just to scroll down the list of soldiers who have died, and also, the list of your top five soldiers. In short, this game is one of the best for the rapidly-dying GBC. It's also very hard to find, so I would definitely recommend getting it now!

Coolest GameBoy Color Game,
By WaiMing (Malaysia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cannon Fodder (Game Cartridge)
The intro is the best I have ever seen. The rotating 3-D menu is superb. The graphics and animation are amazing. The sound effects will blow your ear drums. The screen scrolls pretty smooth. This game is worth to go for. Value for money. May the Force be with you.
