top notch, December 8, 2002

This album contains the same material used in Disc 2 of the Sophisticated Swing 2-CD set, starting with tracks 7-15. Cannonball's playing is top notch, as usual. His session playing on the I'll Remember April is on par with his live playing. I spent an entire summer a few years ago transcribing ever solo from the compilation set, with these tracks being the most enlightening of the solos performed.
