The lens is strong enough to get exceptional clarity and detail at a significant distance, but doesn't overwhelm the close up shots. It is exactly what I was looking for. The company over-delivered by shipping the product immediately and exceeded my expectations on quality and delivery.

I had a great experience with Amazon, in ordering and receiving my product timely. I absolutely love my EF-S 55-250 Lens. It take great close up shots. I always wanted to know the difference in getting great close up shots, now I know!

We use these accessories constantly with our new camera. It's a great starter pack. The lens is great for everyday pictures. We had to purchase another telephoto lens for sports pictures because our children are older and play on full size fields, but this lens is great for pictures where the subjects are not very far away. The cleaning kit is useful and we have used the filter several times on sunny days. We were happy with the pictures taken using the filter.

This was a Christmas present for my niece and the look on her face when I saw her using it was priceless. I think she is glad I was able to help my nephew in law pick out a telephoto lens for her. The reason for choosing this lens is due to the IS capability. My niece is new to digital cameras and I thought this one would be the one for her. I do believe she is pleased.

This lens is priced great with many features. A good walk around lens for a vacation when you don't want a camera bag to haul around.

I purchased the 55-250 for my wife and I must say I am impressed with its performance. Although its not a fast lens (like my 70-200 2.8), the lens is very sharp. If you're looking for a good consumer grade lens (paid $260) and mostly take shots of stationary people or objects, its worth it. My wife loves the lens. Now if you like to shoot sports, this is not the lens for you.

The build of the 55-250 is very good (for its price). I was expecting it to be somewhat flimsy (since it has the plastic mount), but its actually not bad.

I would definitely recommend it for someone who wants a "walk around" lens with good reach. If you get this lens, you may want to also get a wider one to complement it. Have not tried the 18-55 IS since my wife already has a Tamron 28-75. That lens is very very good. This review is not about that lens so i wont discuss it.

1.I have a 18mm-55mm kit lens with my T3i and i was in search for a telephoto,but having a tight budget i decided to buy the 55mm-250mm at this great price for an image stabilized zoom lens.

Images are very sharp,the image stabilization does a nice job.Not to big and really light, this lens exceeds my expectations for a low cost telephoto.

2.The lens hood is a pretty much an exact match. It mounts perfectly and seems to be well made.

3.Lens cleaning pen - quick and easy way to remove smudges and dust.This is a great cleaning option to keep handy.Having this tool in my bag is very convenient.

4.I'm actually not a fan of lens filters,but I decided to buy it anyway to protect the lens.

5.The cloth it comes with is fabulous-soft and cleans the camera's LCD and the lens very well,the blower also works great.

6.I haven't used the lens cleaning fluid, tissues or swabs yet.

I have no problem to recommend this kit to any beginner photographer.

This lens is great. It does exactly what you want it to 55-200mm. I have gotten great images with it.
