Excellent Choice, November 16, 2008
I was looking to purchase a good flash for my Canon XSI camera. I was undecided between the Canon 580ex or the 430ex. After reading lots of reviews; I decided to get the 580ex. Once I received it; I was astonished with the quality of light it provides for my pictures.

Let there be light, April 6, 2008
Are you satisfied with the flip-up flash on your camera? As a matter of fact I was, until my wife got me this 580EX II for my birthday. I shoot most of my photos in natural light so the flash on my camera was just convenient enough to do the job. Wait `til you get your hands on a real flash. It will open up a new world you never knew. I haven't had chance to use it's full extent and I'm still having fun with my experiments, but don't worry your 580EX comes with a brain of its own that you can depend on until you feel comfortable. Oh, and don't forget to get yourself a diffuser. Sto-Fen OmniBounce should meet your budget.
