Very steady, great quality tripod..

Upon asking Canon for support, I was told they offer nothing, leaving me with nothing but disgust for a company I used to stand behind.

Some of the components are made from plastic and they will strip if you aren't careful.

I purchased this tripod along with a remote switch so that I might find success with longer exposure night photography. I own a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and am just beginning to move into more serious amateur photography, and I don't want to spend a lot on accessories right now. As any photography enthusiast knows, you can spend a pretty penny collecting even entry-level accessories like tripod, switches, more comfortable shoulder strap, more useful camera bag, all-weather protection, memory cards, editing software, etc... it's endless, before you even get to lenses!

This tripod had, by far, the best overall reviews of any in this low price range, and I believe that it is a solid choice for the beginner or more advanced photographer who wants to experiment with photographing using a tripod. It was surprisingly heavy coming out of the box, and the aluminum legs and rubber feet feel stable with my smaller lenses. I am comfortable using it with my 55-250mm telephoto lens, but I might worry about the camera snapping off if used with a much larger lens. (And, the tripod itself can't accommodate a load larger than 4.4 pounds.)

PROS: Aluminum legs and center shaft feel sturdy. 3-way pan head (useful for video, but I don't use it.) Built-in basic level. Quick release plate (which I keep screwed onto my camera much of the time) which allows you to snap the camera into place rather than screwing it directly to the tripod. 62" maximum height. Attractive overall design and carbon color.

CONS: Aside from the aluminum legs and center shaft, the rest of the construction is plastic, and not the most high-quality plastic. Many components have visible lines from the molding process.

This tripod is great for the occasional tripod user. It is lightweight and does what it is intended to do. I would not recommend it for someone who intends to use it frequently and in rough conditions... there are plastic peices that adjust height and legs, etc. It is an inexpensive alternative for someone who wants to try their hand at photography, but not the choice for a pro or semi pro. Definitely for a beginner like me. No complaints here!

I have a canon t2i with a 18/135mm lens. The stand can handle the weight and doesn't wobble. However - you cannot man handle the stand. Some of the components are made from plastic and they will strip if you aren't careful.

This tripod isn't strong enough for heavy cameras, let alone big lenses.... it could be said that it was my fault for buying this in the first place, but no where does it say something about weight limitations, when you try to set up your camera the weight will bend it, making it time consuming to set it up... if you rotate the camera after setting it up, you will have to do it again as it will bend differently.

Photography is a favorite hobby of mine and I needed a decent tripod for some specific shots I wanted to try. It's lightweight, easy to use and perfect for my Canon Rebel T2i.

The tripod worked great when I needed to use it. About two weeks ago as I was folding it up to put back into its bag and one of the leg hinges broke. It was about the fifth time I have used it and I took very good care of it, the plastic just broke off and I cannot do anything to fix it.

Functionally, this tripod does exactly what I want/expect it to do. It is surprisingly more sturdy and heavier than it appears. It is very user friendly and the product (even though advertised as not Prime) arrived on the same day that my Prime (2 day shipping) items arrived.
