Am I the only one who didn't expect this to come with a rechargeable battery? Anyways, this accessory is a must-have if you have a big CF card and are spending a lot of time file managing your shots. The AC adaptor is useful both at home when you have the camera hooked to your PC or on vacation. I plan on taking the camera on my next vacation along with a 128 MB CF card. The CF card can store up to 700+ photos if taken with the small resolution setting, and the last thing I want is to be stuck with drained batteries while I'm browsing through my shots.

Now for the negative. The object that so deceptively looks like a battery actually does fit in the battery compartment, only it has round receptacle, which the AC cord plugs into. My gripe is that after you plug in the AC adaptor and the PC connector cable, there really isn't any comfortable way to rest the camera. The bottom has this big AC plug jutting out of it. The top has the multi-function switch. One side of the camera houses the USB connector. The other has the peg for the wrist strap. No way am I going to rest the camera on the LCD screen. This really leaves you with the option of placing the camera lens-side down.

So far I've worked around this by just being real careful to place the camera on a soft cloth surface; however, I can't help but feel that the design will someday contribute to something bad happening to my camera.

The pictures advertising this kit are a bit deceptive. Please realize that you are not getting another battery. What they are showing is the battery attachment that will slide into your camera while using AC Power. This kit is a must for uploading pictures onto your computer. The life of a normal battery is very short, thus this AC Pack allows you to save your battery power while bringing the pictures to your computer. All things considered, this kit is worth the money. In the meantime, these digital cameras really need a battery that lasts longer.

In the picture, it looks like it comes with a rechargeable battery for the Cannon ELPH camera, but mine only came with the two cables.
