I bought this item thinking that it was a battery that allowed you to charge it by simply plugging it into an outlet. Unfortunately it is not. This product is basically a way to use your camera for extended periods of time by using AC power instead of a battery. If you were going to spend over an hour with your camera hooked up to a computer, maybe this will work for you. I found that the using battery is sufficient though. The ACK-DC10 works well if you need to power your camera without using it's battery.

Great for downloading pictures to your computer without draining the battery. This is not a charger. Esay to install. A no brainer.

The description should be brought up to date for use on the SD1000 camera.

I use it to take timelapse photos and motion capture photos. Works great with CHDK software.

Took the camera and accessories to the Philippines and they worked wonderfully. It was so nice having a small camera along with the digital slr. The power adapter is perfect for downloading pics although the battery worked well too. Love this little GEM.

The item arrived promptly, in good condition and works perfectly. I like the fact that it has a rather long cord, which allows my camera to move quite some distance from the AC source.

This kit was purchased as a supplement to the battery charger kit, and spare battery, I had previously purchased.
If I wasn't pressed for time, I would have bought the AC Adapter Kit rather than the spare battery, for very little difference in cost.
The kit is extremely useful when viewing photos/videos on my Canon SD750 camera. For lengthy sessions of selecting photos for transfer to my computer, editing, etc., the kit eliminates draining the battery, and reduces the need for
frequent charging the battery.
My only minor demurrer is the number of cables necessary to attach the adapter.
Overall, I'm quite satisfed with this product.
Amazon.com's very prompt processing/delivery of this purchase is also appreciated.

The AC adapter worked perfectly. The only downside to the adapter system is if you have a tripod that doesn't give you room to plug it in the bottom of the camera. I had to rotate my camera on the mount. Past that, I had it running for 6 hour straight without issues.

I needed an AC power source for my Canon SD1000 camera. This kit provides a battery like insert that fits inside the camera with a socket which attaches to a power supply that plugs into 120-240 volt AC line.
The kit arrived in less than 5 days and was priced about 1/2 of Canon's web store price. the kit was new(OEM)and works fine.

The kit was delivered with the date specified. I used it on my SD600 and it work just fine.

I have not used it so much, best if you have a fixed set to place your camera and no need to recharge batteries.
