Simply put, this item should be a standard accessory in the box... but it isn't. I have two G10s and use two of these. They work great and allow me to run the camera's for extended periods of time without having to recharge. I use them for timelaps end photobooth applications. Highly recommended. Easy to use. Fairly long cord.

ACK-DC50 power adapter is a "must have" for studio bulk photo work. The adapter replaces the battery. The battery may be charged in it separate charger while using ACK-50 adapter power.

Even though I'd purchased a backup battery for my Canon SX30 IS, there are times when I use this AC power adapter at home with the camera on a tripod. If you use a 32 GB memory card in your camera like I do then you have enough memory to record at least 2 hours of HD video. That is when I power plug my Canon into an AC outlet and have zero worry about battery blackouts. I also use the power adapter to shoot live music video in clubs and outside for Tom Faia and The Juice.

I gave this item 5 ***** because it's portable, small and best of all, indispensable.
