Needed a printer for my notebook PC while on vacation. This was just what I needed. With USB was an easy setup, no special drivers required, just "plug-n-play". Slow printing, but good quality. Small footprint, easy to carry. Even fits in my notebook case.

I'm very pleased with my recent purchase of this printer. The canon BJC 85 may seem outdated by some of the more modern portables, but, in my experience, this is still the absolute best and most reliable portable to carry. The print speed is slow by modern standard, but , in my opinion, that is outweighed by the ease of operation, very light weight, and inexpensive and easily refillable ink tanks. It's still the smallest and lightest full function portable available.

The fact that it is is a Plug-and Play with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 is a HUGE plus in my opinion. No CD to fumble with or loose. Nothing to download. And the USB connectivity makes it a snap. Just plug it into the computer and it's installed. Nothing could be simpler.

Sadly, finding that the scanner feature is not compatible with VISTA and 7 is a let down, but if someone runs XP, having the ability to buy a scanner cartridge and convert the printer to a portable scanner is very convenient. I don't think that there is any other portable capable of that.

The outside case is durable and hides scuffing well. And it seems to take travel well. I've owned both a newer Canon iP90 and iP90v prior to switching back to this printer and am glad I did. The silver cases of the iP's got very scratched quickly and tended to look very beat up. And both, while giving excellent print, seemed to be very touchy.

This BJC 85 is something I've owned before. I'm glad I was able to find a used one in such good shape on Amazon, and am glad to have this old friend back.

This printer is great! It came with 110 and 220 cords and is very small. I am in the army and do not have a lot of space where I am so I couldn't have ordered a better printer!

Received printer promptly and it is in beautiful condition, not a mark on it, works perfectly with my laptop running Windows 7. Print quality is fine, not as good as a newer desktop printer. But terrific for a portable printer that I can take with me to Mexico. Very well packaged with all parts as promised. Highly recommend this seller and this product.

I had one of these years ago. The newer models are faster, but this one has (slower but) better print quality, a bit wider carriage. Ink tanks are a little hard to find, but can be refilled easily. Great find.

This printer works fine and came extremely well packaged with all the needed cords and ink. I am pleased.

This printer worked good. The only problem and it is a problem typical of ink jets is that the ink cartridge will gum up and need to be replaced even if it's not empty if you don't use it often enough.
