5.0 out of 5 stars Canon Photo Paper
Canon printers work best with Canon paper. Not fair but that's the way it is... This is a great deal if you make your own home photos. Great Price and shipped quickly.

1.0 out of 5 stars Deceptive /misleading web display
This item is not what is displayed on the web site. Note, there is a picture of a bridge, however, when I received the package, the picture was that of a female smelling a bunch of roses.
The numbers are identical on both packages, though the one showing a bridge is the older packaging - the product in the older package was for my purposes better than the newer...

Granted, I have a Canon printer (Pixma iP4300) but this paper is of excellent quality. I've used HP & Kodak photo paper and the results are never quite as good as when I use the Canon Photo Paper Pro. There's something about it that just makes my photo printing look better than anything else.
Whether that's some sort of conspiracy by Canon or not I'll let you be the judge. From my perspective, when I want the best possible quality of photo printing, this is (and will continue to be) the photo paper for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extra features of this special paper, August 3, 2006

I'm a professional photographer, so image quality is important to me.

A Canon Product Specialist was hanging out at CompUSA. She informed me of some special features of this paper. I brought with me a sample photo printed on non-Canon paper on my beloved Canon i9900 8-cartridge printer. She noticed some smears on the photo where I had touched it before it dried. She said the Canon paper won't do that. She printed a sample on Canon Photo Paper Plus. As it came out of the printer she rubbed her fingers on the image. No smear. It seems the Canon paper has a protective clear coat on the front. The ink penetrates it, then evaporates mostly through the *back* of the paper. Try this experiment: Print a richly colored image on this paper. As soon as the printing is done, feel the temperature of the front vs. the back of the printout. The back side is noticeably cooler. That's where the ink volatiles are going.

I use only Photo Paper Pro. It is thicker than Plus, but otherwise seems the same. Same clarity and vibrant colors. And I suspect it is best for images you wish to hang onto for a long time.

There is a deep technical symbiosis between the advanced Canon printers and their special papers. I am amazed at the level of this technology.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Canon Paper, March 29, 2007

If you own a Canon printer you will almost always get the best results using Canon ink and paper. Photo Paper Pro is the top of the line glossy paper from Canon and has the highest price to go with it. These packs of 30 are a welcome addition to the product line-up as Amazon offers it at a price close to what 15 sheets sell for in stores.

If you wonder whether it is worth paying for the high end paper or if a cheaper one would do, make you consider all angles. First, it is true that the Canon Photo Paper Plus, Glossy (7980A006, 8.5x11, 20 Sheets) will look just as good at the time you print it out. Unfortunately, the Photo Paper Plus also fades quickly. I had photos stored in an album fade quite noticeably in just one year while prints made on Photo Paper Pro still looked great. Supposedly, the Pro stock will hold color for decades but those estimates are notoriously tricky to make. However long they last, it is clearly a good deal longer than the cheaper Canon papers and that alone makes it worth investing in if you care about how your pictures look beyond the next few months.

In sum, I highly recommend this paper. More specifically, I recommend buying it in this specific package of 30 sheets to help significantly lower your cost per sheet. This is the best paper you can buy for a Canon printer at a bargain price.

I'll go along with the other reviewers here in that this is Canon's best paper and works well in Canon printers and with Canon ink. The prints can be stunning. It is the dye-based inks that will fade, and that is true on this paper as well as the other Canon papers. You have to get prints under glass or they will fade very quickly.

I do wish Canon would expand their paper line and offer high quality matte papers. Epson has lots of papers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great photo paper - a real Pro, February 15, 2007

I have a Canon Pixma printer that I got as a freebie when buying a new Mac Computer. Usually these things are not that good but the printer had nice reviews and works great. Surprisingly, the ink does not go away that fast compared to Epson. The major drawback of Canon printers is that they require their own paper. For this reason, I bought Photo Paper Pro. The price from Adorama was half of Staples and Amazon offered an additional discount. The paper is still significantly more expensive than Epson photo paper. But there is a difference. Tweaking the color settings, one can make the printer deliver good colors with Epson paper but the saturation is not exactly as you see on the screen or on standard photos. The Canon paper does not indeed require any tweaking and yields very bright colors with high contrast. The pictures are very vivid especially those shot outdoors. The paper also looks like old fashioned photo paper with very high gloss. If you have a Canon photo printer, look no further. Highly recommend this paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good deal on nice paper, January 9, 2007

Photos and artwork printed out crisp and colorful. If Canon's marketing blather is to be believed, they'll stay that way for quite a while given a bit of care in storage.

Only piddling drawback is that, when cutting down a couple of pieces with an x-acto blade, a bit of pigment flaked off the very margins. Problem was solved by using rotary cutter.

The 30 sheets package is a much better deal than the usual 15 sheets packet found in stores.

5.0 out of 5 stars The only glossy paper to use with a Canon printer, March 6, 2007

I use this paper with my Canon i6600D and the results are fantastic. It's heavy and thick enough to be durable and after the ink dries a bit the finish is actually pretty smooth. I've not found a paper (Canon, anyhow) that matches the lab stuff as far as that "waxed glass" feel to the finished product but this stuff is pretty damn close. I have also used the Canon Photo Paper Plusy Glossy and although I don't notice printing quality differences, the Pro is definitely superior if you're going to be handling the pictures with your hands. For framing or other presentation where you'll never handle the paper, the Plus is fine, but go with the Pro for showing them off to others or giving them as gifts.

So far it seems that the only photo grade paper that I've tried with my Canon printer(ip6700D), that works best is the Canon Photo Paper Pro, or for that matter, any of the Canon papers that is designed for this printer. I was using Fuji photo paper previously, but it seems that the skin tones had a grainy texture that was unacceptable. This also holds true for the Kodak, HP, and Epson papers. Also, the Canon photo papers dries to the touch very quickly so you don't get smudges from handling when it's removed from the printer. I recommend this paper very highly.
