Ordered the Cannon Rebel EOS XS on Sunday night and received it on Wednesday afternoon. I have been looking for an entry level digital SLR camera and this was absolutely the best value I have found. Received everything that was advertised and was taking picures that evening at our New Years Eve party. Great camera and easy to use. Excellent service from Cameta Camera. Will definetly recommend Cameta to my friends and family!!!!

I am finding it very easy to take pictures with this camera. Has lots of high tech things to do on it and I will enjoy learning all there is to learn on the camera set.

There is nothing I do not like about this camera. It is great for sports, my son plays college baseball and I have taken some great pics! It is easy to learn and came with everything you need plus extras that were good quality not junk. The vendor shipped this item earlier than expected and one cable was back ordered, I did not have to remind them to send it. Great price for everything you get.

I was looking for a camera to give me better quality and better zoom to capture those close-up pics that make it worth it. I was able to pull it out of the box and after getting a few basics down, I was taking pictures within 5 minutes. The quality of my pics are great. The zoom lens that came with my package is great. I enjoy my camera and find it well worth the price.

Well, what can I say. This is my first digital SLR camera. (I consider myself to be an Amateur Photographer; for about 20 years now.) I have a Canon AE-1 in my inventory so I am not shy when it comes to these types of cameras.

Firstly what surprised me was the battery life: I charged it for a full 24 hours for the first time (admittedly I did not read the manual yet). Having said that what I found was that the battery just kept going and going. We went on vacation where I used the camera for the first time and I shot 691 images. The battery was still showing a full cell. Amazing.

It feels very good in my hands. I would almost say natural. I like it. I also like the display.

I'm just starting to learn about it and I feel I have a long way to go. To maximize this I am reading the manual that it comes with. This is something I know I have to do if I really want to work the camera to its fullest potential.

Picture quality is excellent. But of course 10MP you would expect nothing less.

With all of the gear that you want to bring with you it is surprisingly mobile. I also have to rave about the onboard flash unit. In full auto when it flashes it reads the light level very well. The only downside is that, it may not flash sometimes because it is reading the light from another part of the frame. (My experience will grow in this matter so I'm not too worried about it.)

All-in-all I think the best way to sum it up is like this: I have a friend who is a Professional Photographer and he told me, "when you get your camera and you start using it, you know you won't go back" "No", I said. I love the look of film. I thought that there is nothing better. He continued . . . "well if you use your new camera the same way that you use your film camera, I promise, you won't go back"

Well, needless to say I was so sure of myself that I bet him $5 that he was wrong . . . I lost the bet!

love the camera. it's the lower end slr model. but at my budget and for the pictures i take it's awesome. love the additional lens. camera arrived in timeframe that it was stated to arrive in. packing box protected the camera. i have nothing but great things to say a about it.

The camera was a graduation gift and it came much earlier than expected. I will do business with this company again.

Well, I was looking for a DSLR long time ago, I couldn't decide between canon XS or pentaxK-X but I finally decided and bought the canon XS.

Unlike pentax K-X this canon doesn't have a lot of extra features like HD video recording and in-body image stabilization, but I decided for canon because it is more "standard" (I mean, more people use it and thus I can find more support in the community, blogs, forums, etc).

Something I REALLY loved in the petax and I miss in this canon, is the use of AA batteries, but well we cannot have it all in a single camera :(

I'm so happy with the picture quality it delivers, even with the kit lens! The problem is that the extra telephoto lens provided doesn't have image stabilization (yes, this camera does not have stabilizer in the body, it relies on the lens), so using the telephoto lens in a cloudy day or low light situations is a no-no. The pentax K-X has image stabilization built in the body, so ANY lens you use is gonna get that stabilization, this is not the case with canon.

Another flaw in this model is the materials used, feels a little flimsy and plasticky. Even bridge DSLR-like point and shoots are stronger. The next model, the XSi, is way stronger than this and I guess worth the extra bucks.

Anyway (and besides the mentioned flaws), I'm overall happy with the picture quality (at the end of it all, this is the most important thing in a camera). If you're on a budget get this one, it gives you more bang for the buck!

I'm strictly an amateur photographer who was looking for the best "point and shoot" I could find, with various lens options and the option to learn manual camera operations at my leisure. I had recently bought a Nikon Coolpix S710 and was unhappy with its performance. Even the miniature size proved to be a turn-off, and the lack of a view finder annoyed this old-timer. The photo results were nothing but ordinary, at best. The baby Nikon proved to me that I wanted a "full-size" camera with view finder, and one with versatility and high quality results.

I read lots of reviews, thanks to Amazon, decided on a price maximum, and finally settled on the Canon Rebel XS. Right out of the box, the results were, well, astounding, using the automatic setting only. The images are sharp, the color is superb, and the flexibility of the lenses all come together for a downright enjoyable experience. The automatic focus is great. The built-in flash does a great job. Every picture I take is above average. The camera is intelligent and always seem to know what settings it should use.

The package offered by Cameta Camera is a bargain. For $599.95 it included two lenses, a spare battery, 4GB card, adequate camera/gadget bag, camera strap, so it was ready to go right out of the box. Every item offered by Cameta was accounted for and supplied as advertised, and promptly shipped.

Some people may not like its larger size, and with a separately purchased Canon EF-S 18-200mm lens it is a bit heavy (and pricey), but I find that an asset, and very "professional" looking. It's got a natural "hold" that's comfortable, while the standard 18-55mm lens is much smaller and lighter and easy to manage.

The package also comes with a 75-300mm zoom lens which I haven't used yet. It seems more geared to specialized use for strictly zooming situations.

I judge the Canon XS Rebel package from Cameta Camera as a "best buy" that should prove hard to beat for the price and quality. Using a card reader, I transferred all my pics to an Apple puter, and they look great on the screen.

I shopped around for a while looking for the best deal. This was a great deal with the extras I needed. I love having both lenses. I was able to get the whole package for the price of just the camera at local stores. I have taken some great pictures so far of my kids sports activities. We also took a lot of pictures at the zoo.
The only problem I had was that one of the bag clips broke after just a few days but I notified the company and they responded right away and sent out 2 extra clips to replace the broken one. Great customer service. I will buy from this company again when I need additional items for my camera.
