5.0 out of 5 stars More than a low-priced neutral grey card
I bought this little booklet primarily because I needed a low-cost neutral grey card for my camera bag. Turns out this little booklet is way more useful than just that! With the instructions in the booklet (written for Canon cameras and printers, but you can use the same techniques with any brands), I was able to color-balance my camera, monitor and printer so that what I...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy for the color chart
This book is basically designed (as far as I can tell) to get you to buy a canon printer. The gray card is somewhat functional but the color card is an "example" to give you an idea of what a real color card would do.

Plus it was $5 to ship.

3.0 out of 5 stars A little disappointed, December 14, 2009

I bought this to have a cheap gray card, but after getting it I saw that it said that the card was too thin and to use thick cardboard behind it to block the light. on the other hand, one can simply fold the card over and use the booklet itself for that. something to bear in mind before ripping the thing off.

This is a nice guide book, but be aware that it is not an absolute solution to matching your monitor colors to your printer. It is a helpful guide in showing you concepts and providing ideas for color match up, but in the end, you use your eyeball, camera skills, and monitor limitations to determine whether your monitor colors match those on the color sheet.

With the instructions in the booklet (written for Canon cameras and printers, but you can use the same techniques with any brands), I was able to color-balance my camera, monitor and printer so that what I print is exactly what I see on the screen. Way cheaper than other more complicated tools for this. Perfect!
