I am happy with my purchase. It included everything I needed to get a nice (but basic) camera set-up going. All the items included are things you need. The bag has enough space for your camera with the lens & compartment space for an additional lens, lens caps, cables and the extra battery. So there's plenty of space. The bag is fairly big so if its portability and comfort you're after then you may need a smaller bag with less space. The included battery is not a Canon battery but it is a fully compatible spare which comes in handy in a day full of shooting when your Canon battery may run out of power. The 8GB card provides plenty of space. Using the "L" quality setting (the highest JPG setting) the card will approximately store 1600 pictures. It gives you plenty of room to shoot without worrying about running out of memory. 8GB is the right size as far as memory cards go. I'm glad they chose this size for it. The cables included are part of the Canon kit:USB cable and video out to see the photos on a TV (the camera does not shoot video). The lens is excellent and so is the camera. If you are only getting started with dSLRs you will be more than satisfied with it. As you add lenses, filters and flash kits you will have even more possibilities for your photo enthusiasm.

All of the items were great except the camera bag. the little clips holding it closed popped off like they had been petrified or something.

I bought this camera after seeing what a friend of mine could do with hers. I have wanted this Canon Rebel for a long time and was happy to see the price down a bit. I bought the combo and had read reviews about the bag being of poor quality. I do agree somewhat with those reviews but so far I have not had any problem with the bag breaking, etc. It is a bit big but it has alot of zippered pockets and after putting all my camera stuff in it I still have room for some things out of my purse. Therefore I am able to carry the bag and not my bag and purse. Easier for me. Yippee!!!

The camera is wonderful for a beginner like me. I have had many point and shoot cameras as an adult and as a child I had a fascination with cameras and have owned many in my childhood. This camera has an almost self explanatory feel. I tried to use the manual (which does come in handy) that explained where to find the functions, etc., but didn't tell me enough on what they really do or how to use them in all types of situations. It was mostly trial and error but extremely easy to use and a lot of fun experimenting. I purchased a book, Canon Rebel XS/1000d for Dummies, and that is the most helpful book if you want step by step instruction on every function on this Canon and more. Amazon offers this book but I had already purchased it in hopes of getting the camera. Sort of putting the cart before the horse. If you want or need a step by step guide to this camera, then this is a good place to start. It is easy to follow with photos showing what is being explained and where to find it on your camera.

I use this camera daily in all types of situations and love it. Easy to use, easy to follow, not too heavy with the EF-S 18-55mm IS lens it came with. Even as an extreme novice to this camera and all it functions, I am able to take the best photos I have ever taken! This camera won't disappoint anyone, even the professionals knowing it's limitations. I am learning all about auto mode and am progressing to manual mode soon. Even if you do nothing but use the auto mode you will take better photos than you have ever taken. This camera couldn't be easier to use.

The camera arrived on time in perfect condition from the seller. I have absolutely no complaints with anything. Great price and great performance.

We were searching for an entry-level D-SLR for our son (for his photography course). After a lot of research on both DSLRs and high-end consumer cameras, we decided on this Canon EOS entry level camera because it offers the quality of a true digital SLR camera at a reasonable cost (with the flexibility to add more sophisticated lenses in the future if he really gets into photography). Having made that decision, the Cameta Camera bundle cannot be beat -- it was the same cost as the camera alone at most other retailers. Because our son needed all the accessories included in the package anyway (plus a tripod), this was an easy and cost-effective solution for us.

This is a great starter kit for someone new. It comes with everything to get going from the jump. It got here quick, price was great, awesome purchase.

I bought this camera after my first child was born. It has made a huge difference in the quality of the pictures of him. We liked our own pictures better than the hospital professional and saved $90 right there by taking/printing our own picture.

Even though it's my first LSR and first Canon, it's been really easy to use. I've only used the automatic functions so far but the pictures have come out great. We've done indoor, outdoor.

Only complaint would be that on 2 occasions there has been a significant delay in taking one picture to the next. I could be doing something wrong.

Everything was included in the shipment needed to get started taking pictures. My brother who has one like it gave me 5 rules of proper care for my camera LOL.

This is a great camera for those who are just starting out and looking to get into photography. There are many things that this camera can do that is hard to understand right away. By learning the basics of the camera and just playing around with different settings, you can come out with some great photos. This kit includes everything you need! I received an additional lens as a gift and it was the next best purchase. I paid $539 for this camera kit and the lowest I've seen after making that purchase is the $479 price. At the time of my purchase, the $539 was the best deal out there for this camera and I researched it for months! Cameta Camera does the best job in making sure everything is received on time and if there is a problem, they take care of it right away. I have many friends who have made this same purchase and we are all very pleased!

First of all the XS is a fantastic camera. Very user friendly, and will be especially good for amateur photogs.
Second of all, they package it all in one box, and the cool thing is the Canon XS comes in its original box!
I found most of the extra stuff the outfit gave very useful.

8gig memory card is plenty of room!
The bag is a little too big though to carry around (although there is room for lenses)
I just bought a holster bag for my camera so it's easier to carry around.
Memory card reader is being used constantly!!
Extra battery is handy, very useful as well.

I sold my manual SLR about 10 years ago, bought a cheap digital point and shoot, then waited for the price of digital SLRs to stabilize and the technology to mature. That has happened over the past few years and I'm very pleased that this is the camera I chose to get back into the SLR game. I'm not a serious photographer, but this camera has plently of advanced features if you are, and is easy to use if you aren't. Further, the convenience and value of this package makes it hard to beat. Gadget bag is a little cheap, but I bought a gadget backpack at the same time (I recommend one of those).
