This is one of about 5 books I've purchased on the Canon Rebel T3i. This book truly stands above and beyond all the others if your new (like me) to digital SLR photography. The book explains everything very well and has pictures to back up everything for visual reference. What sets this book apart from all the others, is that you can read it without feeling like your reading the owners manual. I've learned tip and tricks specifically related to the T3i that others have left out. Do yourself a favor, stop looking for the best reference book for the Canon Rebel T3i, and buy this one. You will not be disappointed. And to the author, thank you for making the book that I needed!

Revell does an excellent job of getting you up-to-speed on the T3i.

His writing's clear, book is well-organized, and illustrations are excellent - showcasing Revell's own photography in ways that clearly illustrate the points he's making.

Revell's a professional photographer, but he takes a very down to earth approach. He clearly explains the basics of the camera - and of photography. He doesn't assume you already know basic concepts. Instead, he quickly explains things, then gets you ready to move up a level.

A very good book for quickly getting you oriented to the T3i, then moving forward to understanding and creating better photographs.

I recently purchased the T3i. When I was conducting my research online about the camera I came across this book via amazon. I considered two other books one of which (T3i for dummies) and another. I have to say I'm beyound satisfied with this book. The step by step instuctions are simple and to the point (without a ton of back story. . The visual photos are clear and direct. I would recommend this book to anyone who get the T3i. I assure you will not be disappointed.

This books main purpose is to give you tips and show you the little tricks for your T3i Rebel. This does that and so much more!! It is a great all around book for every type of photography. I am sooo glad a friend recommended this book for me. I would buy it again, and it's worth every penny and more!!! FYI...I am reading it for the second time...its just that good and informative!!! If you have a T3i, this book is a MUST HAVE.

Most books I had looked through was basically a regurgitation of the manual. This book was a breath of fresh air!! SUPER practical with lots of tips...it made the "getting-to-know" period with my camera a great adventure rather than a tedious task. I DEFINITELY recommend if you have this particular camera.

I've purchased four 600D/T3i books (Busch's book, the field guide, the "For Dummies" guide, and this one), and Revell's book is easily the most useful and easily digested of the lot. He briefly covers a lot of the basic stuff (inserting batteries, changing lenses, etc), but leaves a lot of it up to common sense (as he should) or instructs readers to consult the manual (which is the first "book" everyone should read). The rest is dedicated to learning your camera's functions, from the auto modes to going full manual. By the time you're done with this one, you'll have a much better understanding of everything this excellent camera has to offer.

This book is laid out nicely and is pleasant to read. Very helpful info especially if you are new to DSLR cameras and don't want to read a lot. That said, I was disappointed in this book somewhat...

One of the major features of this camera is video - and the book only VERY briefly touches on it. I have to go online to read a "bonus" chapter on video. Sorry, but I purchased a book to have a BOOK to hold in my hands and leave in my car for when I'm out and about and have some time to play with my camera...I don't want to have to go online to get info that should have been included in the book.

While the David Busch book dedicated to this camera may seem like overkill / overwhelming, it is packed full of info and illustrations and is easily twice the size of this book.

If you want just a brief intro to the camera this would be a good choice. If you want a much more thorough introduction to and explanation of how to work well with this camera, this will not satisfy you.

I bought this book very shortly after purchasing my T3i and it's proven to be a fantastic reference manual as well as an instruction manual for learning the difference between 'snapping a picture' and 'taking a photo'. It's thorough, very easy to read, and informative. Reading it encouraged me to put the things it taught me to use. Great investment for T3i owners who are just getting into DSLR photography like me.
