4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it for me
I purchased this extender so that I could be more comfortable looking through the viewfinder. 5/8ths of an inch doesn't seem like a whole lot but it is enough to put some space between your face and the camera.

To install, you remove the eyepiece cushion from the camera, slip on the extender and then reattach the eyepiece cushion to the extender...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth it
I bought this thinking it would be extra cushion and also extend the view back from the camera. Well, it does move you a little back from the camera, but also reduces the magnification.

You clip it to the camera body, and then attach the eyepiece cushion to it.

After wasting my money, it now just sits in my bag.

It does reduce the magnification in the viewfinder, but not enough to be an issue for me. The extenders can be purchased with your eye glass prescription strength in mind so one doesn't need to wear their glasses when using the camera. This particular extender does not correct vision.

This extender stays on my camera at all times.

PROS:
Gives your nose some breathing room.

CONS:
Reduces magnification in the viewfinder.

Loving this eye piece extender! Great for not smashing your face up against the camera and having to wipe it off as often. Great, cheap little gadget! Loving it!

3.0 out of 5 stars While it does reduce view in viewfinder..., August 26, 2008

It definitely moves your face away for the LCD.
I would recommend setting the dioptric adjustment on camera BEFORE adding this piece.
