Oh well, as long as the screen works.

Since I shoot both video as well as stills I have grown used to a grid screen to keep me honest (level) when I shoot .

I'm not sure what else I should be expecting but so far, so good.

The installation is simple. The new grid comes with a tool that is essentially a hook and a clip built into a single device. There is no need to handle the existing grid or the replacement grid by touching with your fingers once the tool is properly used.

Alignment is easy with this grid, the impact of it was immediate.

Highly recommended. Should have come pre-installed with the camera though.

I wish this screen came with my 5D Mark II. It's great for architectural shots when it's critical to keep straight lines. The instructions that came with it are clear and easy to understand. There is a tool included to take out your old screen and install the new one. It took me maybe about 45 seconds to change it. I love looking through the viewfinder with this in the camera. It makes it feel more professional.

I love this screen. Now I don't spend so much time straightening my photos. I wish I'd known how cheap and easy it was to replace the focusing screen. If and when I ever buy another camera again with replaceable focusing screens, I will buy the grid type screen along with the camera.

this screen worked perfectly in my canon 5d. One problem is that the lines of the grid are really faint and it hard to see them.

This is one of those really cool and easy items to install things on you camera. The subtle presents of the reference lines serve as a genital reminder to get everything straight before squeezing of a shot. I use to collimate my camera for the horizon before panorama shots.

This isn't only good for architectural shots. I like it for practically all situations. Camera tilt is another step in post-processing, but why do it if you don't have to? I had hoped that the electronic level included in my camera could help with leveling, but it's awkward to access and is horribly implemented in the software; it's not even visible in the viewfinder. The position of the etched lines is unfortunately not at 1/3, 1/2 and 2/3, which could aid composition, but rather closer to 3/16, 1/2 and 9/16 frame.

This was a worthwhile purchase. The focusing screen was very easy to install. You can follow a youtube video that shows you how to do it, but the written ones provided were also sufficient. I appreciate having the grid lines. I would recommend the screen to others.

The gridded screen is a must-have for anyone shooting tabletop product or architecture. The guidelines make composing, aligning, and keystone adjustment a cinch.
