Pretty Good Overall,

I bought this printer from Best Buy in January. I needed to replace the Lexmark All in One printer that I had, which was really terrible. Stay away from Lexmark! Anyway, when I got it home and tried to setup the wireless connection with my laptop(which I had gotten only a few weeks before) I had a lot of difficulty. I think that this is entirely due to the fact that I'm running Windows 7 and it was set to do that. I downloaded the correct driver for the printer for my version of windows. I could get it to print wirelessly once, then I tried to have it scan something wirelessly for me. That worked well, but then when I went back to print something again, it wouldn't work. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I dealt with customer service and they weren't a lot of help. Eventually, I was looking at some options in the print dialogue box and clicked on something there and it solved the whole problem. So if you have a problem printing wirelessly with these Canon printers, make sure to check all of your print settings. If it hadn't been for this one seriously annoying problem, I would give it five stars. It has been super reliable and the paper tray is underneath, which is great since we have kids. Also, the output tray closes so that the printer entirely closes up into a cube(also great because of the kids). When you want to print, it automatically opens up! So wonderful!

Great purchase!,
This review is from: Canon MP620B BLUE version Wireless All-in-one Photo Printer (Electronics)
I purchased this printer after doing very little research. I went to best buy knowing I wanted to purchase a multi function wireless printer. This was on sale at the time so I looked at the specs and realized that since I don't do a ton of printing and I just needed to print occasionally that this item would be perfect. So far I have not regret my purchase at all. I am very happy with this product especially considering the price. Canon products never seem to let me down.

Fine printer - until it stopped working,

I bought the Canon MP620B in August 2009 (on sale at Best Buy.) It's been a great little printer/scanner and was completely problem free until it suddenly stopped working two months after the warranty expired. It made a loud noise when starting up a print job and has been "dead" ever since. I couldn't find any obvious problems such as a paper jam (that's what the noise it made reminded me of.) Now I'm looking into the cost of repairing it versus replacing it.
What I liked: Setting it up to my wireless network was a bit time consuming, but the directions provided were clear and easy to follow. The printer itself was very easy to use and the print quality was perfectly fine for me. I never use my at-home printer for photos so I can't comment on how well it handles that task. I mainly print documents in black and white, but occasionally need to print in color. I was pleased with the quality of both. The scanner did a great job as well. Hopefully the cost of repairing it won't be too much, since I really do like this printer (at least I did when it worked.) If the estimate meets or exceeds the cost of replacement, I'll be back to looking for a new printer. As much as I liked this printer, I'm not sure I want to take a chance and get another Canon if I do need to replace it. * Update 3/18/11 * I have not bothered to repair this printer. I found a Lexmark printer (with fax capability) through HSN at a great price with a 5-year full replacement warranty. I couldn't pass up a deal that good.

We have had this printer for over 2 years and it eats through color cartridges even though we are not printing in color. Every 2 months I have to replace the color cartridges in order to print about 20 pages in black. Looking for a replacement now.

Good Enought That I bought a Second One,
This review is from: Canon MP620B BLUE version Wireless All-in-one Photo Printer (Electronics)
I have been more than pleased with this printer. I use this printer as a copier and printer for my classroom. Others have complained that it eats ink. What I do is set the print speed to fast, which uses less ink. With documents that only use black ink I can get over a thousand copies out of one ink cartridge. Moreover, I buy generic replacement ink form eBay or Amazon. I can get a full set of cartridges for about $12 or three or four blacks for about the same. I haven't tried to set it up wirelessly so I don't know if that's difficult. I gave it a four stars because it does for take darn ever to warm up. Usually when I am home I just print it and leave it and then come back later. I would definitely recommend it.

Don't buy it,
This review is from: Canon MP620B BLUE version Wireless All-in-one Photo Printer (Electronics)
This is the worst printer I have ever had. Whenever you want to print anything it takes about two minutes to "warm up" and it does this every time you push the print button. I rarely print anything in color but it goes through the color cartridges as fast as the double sized black cartridge. Interesting even when set on gray-scale it still eats up the color cartridges. This is another scam by the printer companies to sell a relatively cheap printer and make tons of money on the cartridges.

Ink Eater!,

This printer is a great all-in-one for the most part. Wireless was not too difficult for us to set up but we are both tech nerds. The ink usage, however, is a huge problem. I'm going to have to add "ink expenses" to my monthly budget because I am buying it constantly. It seems as soon as I refill one tank, another goes empty on me. I don't think I've printed without the little warning popping up since I purchased the printer. For the record, we are only printing the usual family items, kids for school, etc. Not many photos or big projects. Scanning and/or copying documents is also a pet peeve of mine with this printer. It takes quite a bit of time, in both using the cannon interface and then waiting for the printer to do it's thing.
My suggestion is to research your printer before you buy, including setup, ink usage, and interface useability. I would NOT purchase this printer again.

I wish I could go back in time and tell myself not to buy this printer.,
This review is from: Canon MP620B BLUE version Wireless All-in-one Photo Printer (Electronics)
It runs out of ink quickly, and it is very tedious to set up and use. I am a painter and I print out images to use for my work, as well as just printing out regular documents. It is very difficult to just print in black and white, it wants to use all the colors even when you set to black and white. I have used a few different printers in my time, and they were all so easy to use, I was surprised at how annoying this one is. I don't like how it is hindering my art making.
I got a new computer several months ago and setting up the wifi for this printer on my old computer was such a pain the rear, I have ended up putting the documents I want to print onto a CF card and then just putting that in the printer. Ridiculous - partly on the printer's part in terms of terrible usability, partly my fault for trying to stick with a printer I knew was not user friendly. Today I needed to print out a simple PDF. I can't print it from a CF card. Great. My family and I are now discussing having our reliable old printer (it lasted 6 great years) repaired, and selling this one.

I have generally preferred Canon to the other printer manufacturers like HP and Epson. I certainly prefer them to Lexmark, which is an ink gobbler.
I recently had the following vexing situation: If one of your inks has run out, the printer will not allow you to use any other function such as scanning. You are locked out until the ink is replaced. This seemed either a greedy intentionality or an inexcusable flaw and prompted me to write a negative review on here. I also wrote to Canon, and received a very prompt response, which I appreciated: "Thank you for your inquiry. We value you as a Canon customer and appreciate the opportunity to assist you. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and disappointment you have experienced with your PIXMA MP620B. If you want to scan during an ink tank error condition, press and hold the <Stop> button on the printer for at least five seconds, and then release it. The above procedure will disable the ink level detection. It is recommended to replace the ink tank after scanning is completed. I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance with your PIXMA MP620B. Thank you for choosing Canon. Sincerely, George Technical Support Representative"
