Can't Live Without It/Forced to Buy It,

Unfortunately, a side-effect of upgrading from the EF 100mm f2.8 Macro to the new EF 100mm f2.8L IS USM Macro is having to buy this adapter. Pretty steep for a small ring, but it's a Canon item, what can I say. Build is decent, almost feels aluminum rather than plastic. Threads work smoothly on lens. Make sure it's tight or the ring portion of the flash will rotate.
The ring works as expected, and so far hasn't caused any vignetting when used with MR-14EX. It's a minor pain if you use the ringlite flash a lot since you have to remove it again to put the lens cap on. I ended up just keeping in the pouch with the flash.

This adapter is required to attached the MT-24EX macro flash to the Canon 100mm f/2.8 L IS USM lens. The 100mm L lens cap does not work with the adapter, but get a E-58U lens cap cover and you'll solve that problem as well.

It is a relatively expensive piece of hardware but it works well. The only downside is that to store your 100mm you have to remove the adapter before putting on the lens cap. This makes sense but spinning it on an off like a filter isn't always convenient. Other than that though I'm very happy with it.
