Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The newest addition to Canon's PC900 series of personal copiers, the PC940 is markedly compact and offers all the features you'd expect from a much larger (and more expensive) machine. Operating at a speedy 13 copies per minute (11 per minute if you're using legal-size paper), the PC940 boasts Canon's Single Cartridge System, which combines toner, development unit, and drum into one easily replaceable module that yields 4,000 copies.

Canon's RAPID fusing system means that the PC940 warms up almost instantly, so there's no waiting for the first copy. Automatic and manual exposure controls help you get your prints just right, and you can also enlarge or reduce your prints anywhere from 71 percent to 141 percent of original size.

The PC940 copies single sheets, books, or any 3-D object up to 4.4 lbs, and can handle sizes up to 8.5 by 14 inches. It comes with a 250-sheet paper cassette and can make 100 copies at a time. The PC940 is backed by a three-year limited warranty with onsite service the first year.

From the Manufacturer

The PC940 offers legal-size convenience, a 250-sheet front-loading cassette, and single sheet bypass. Such useful features as Reduction and Enlargement, Zoom, Photo Mode, Toner Saver, and multiple copying for increased productivity make the PC940 the perfect copier for all your copying needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy for Home Office, March 19, 2002

This review is from: Canon PC940 Personal Copier (Office Product)
I purchased this copier 2 months ago. Setup and operation instructions very clear and easy to follow including installing the toner cartridge. Copies very clear and sharp. No dark edges on copies as I have experienced on another copier (Sharp). Copies come out smooth with no curls and are straight. I mainly use the copier for small quantities. Only problem I encountered was a paper jam when making 40 copies of 10 pages. This I think could be avoided if I had fanned the copier paper before loading. I have been using letter paper with 84 brightness with better than average quality. Copier is fairly quiet. It is a very handy tool and very convenient for immediate copies at home. I did not rate the copier a 5 star because I want to see how reliable it will be over time.

We use this in a fairly busy one physician doctors office and we have found it to be dependable. It's fairly quiet, and gives us good quality copies.
What more can you ask. Another good thing about this one is, there a good quality generic toner cartridges available on the web. That really is a plus when your doing a lot of copies per month, like we are.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Performance, June 22, 2004

This review is from: Canon PC940 Personal Copier (Office Product)
I've had this copier for nine months now (a previous Canon copier had given us ten years of good service) and am thoroughly pleased with it. It has no warm-up time at all, the paper tray is ample and you can use a side slot to get a quick copy on a different color or type of paper if you want. It's quick, makes multiple copies, you can increase/decrease the image size, and it has very intuitive controls. Fairly quiet and fast as well. Quite a good buy, really.
