We buy only the value packs as the inks all deplete at a constant rate across the cartridges. Also the visual indicator inside the cartridge means I don't have to weigh them on a postal scale anymore to see if they "really" are empty. Overall the 9500 from canon is a GREAT value prints are simply excellent!

The Pixma 9500 printer offers the best image quality one can receive in a mostly affordable printer, even better than the corner photo lab (because you can tweak the colors yourself!) These inks manufactured by Canon offer the best image quality one can expect from the printer, with no hassles. The few times I bother with third party ink, I was always disappointing with the color quality, so if you care at all about color reproduction, I highly recommend these Canon OEM inks, you wont be disappointing.

The colors produced by the Canon Pro 9500 & these pigment inks are absolutely fantastic.....BUT........... they still need to find a way to get the photo (GLOSS) black to have that shiny look that comes with their dye based inks. I am a photographer & almost half of my work is done in black & white, especially if it involves automobiles, motorcycles or anything else that is metallic. Nothing makes those subjects look better than a nice shiny gloss print with a bright & shiny black "paint" job. Let's go Canon, you can do better than this.
