A nice printer, with a few caveats,
By
This review is from: Canon PIXMA MX320 - Multifunction (fax/copier/printer/scanner) color inkjet - copying (up to): 5.5 ppm (mono) / 2.2 ppm (color) - printing (up to): 7.5 ppm (mono) / 4.5 ppm (color) - 100 sheets - 33.6 Kbps - Hi-Speed USB (Electronics)
This is the first Canon printer I've owned. I was attracted to this unit when my old HP started to show signs of being on its last leg. The main attraction to the Canon is that it does what I want in a home printer (copy, scan, and print...plus it can FAX though I doubt I'll ever use that function). I was attracted to this unit when I did a little comparison shopping. Interestingly the comparison wasn't between several printers (though I did do that), but between the price of replacement HP print cartidges and the price of this printer. I was actually able to get this printer for less than it would have cost me for replace both HP cartidges! And, the price of Canon cartridges is significantly less than those required for the HP.
I am happy with this unit overall. It does a good job of printing and copying, and it even prints photos nicely! It has a reasonably small footprint so it fits on my computer desk just fine. And, when it starts to print it automatically pops open a door on the front of the printer where the printed copies emerge. The use of this printer is largely intuitive, the installation was easy: set up the unit, install the software, and then hook the unit to the CPU, and you are ready to print. The only downside of the unit for me is that it's not very quiet. It's too noisey for office use, but it's acceptable I guess for a home unit. Thus the 4 star instead of the 5 star rating.

Prints, Copies, & FAXes For A Reasonable Price!!! : D,

Physically...
This Canon has an average foot print & a fairly short height for all that it will do, & it has a pleasant, quality "feel" to it when using it. There is a lot of echo in here, & the "quiet mode" print & FAX settings were an unexpected plus. I installed, tested, & used my new equipment & its software with no problems, whatsoever. Pros... I find Canon's PC software interface to be very user-friendly, intuitive, easy to use, & quick to navigate. I am very pleased with the selection of print options it offers. As for printing & copying, Canon's "fast" & "standard" print quality looks great, & its "best" quality rivals laser print. I use "Georgia-Pacific Everyday Copy & Print Paper" (92 Brightness/45 Whiteness/20 Weight)--& my prints & copies come out excellent. I have not tried printing digital photos as of yet, but the manual indicates I can either print photos from my PC--or directly from my Canon digital camera's PictBridge interface. Next in importance only to functionality, print quality, & ease of use--Canon's print cartridges are much more reasonably priced than my old printer. Lexmark constantly scalped me for ink, & that's why I refused to buy another one. Lexmark has seen all of the $ from me they will ever get. Cons... Although this Canon comes with a highly detailed, fast, easy to use PC manual--plus a printed multi-language "quick start" booklet--I would really prefer to receive a complete printed manual, in English. I can use this machine without one, but I do like printed manuals best. Also, because this is my first FAX machine, I found the FAX user interface to be workable, but somewhat vague & obscure. I was uncertain my test FAX was actually sent & received, until I emailed to confirm it. If you have previous office FAX experience, you will probably already know what you're doing when sending & receiving FAXes, & you won't be in the dark as I was. That said, I didn't need to consult the manuals at all to use the copy machine function, & I won't need to FAX too often. When I need it, this FAX will do what I need it to do, which was really all I wanted. Overall... My new Canon equipment will produce quality prints, copies, & faxes--for all of sixty bucks. I love mine, & I think it is an excellent choice for both personal & professional use.

I bought this printer about a month ago and I am loving it so much.
It has print/scan/copy/Fax function in one small package. However, I only use it for color copying and it's so easy to use with built-in automatic document feeder (ADF) The quality is amazing and very quiet. I never tried other features yet.
