This patented technology produces an outstanding resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, for superb detail and photo-realism. Also, Canon has added two high-intensity inks -- photo cyan and photo magenta -- to the conventional four inks, for more accurate color values. This six-color capability makes the iP6220D ideal for photo enthusiasts with a discerning eye.

You can see this higher image quality in 4 x 6, 5 x 7 and 8.5 x 11 borderless photos, all with the look and feel of conventional photographs. And this printer is fast, too: you can produce a stunning photo lab quality 4 x 6 borderless print in approximately 60 seconds. Plus, the USB 2.0 high speed interface enables the fastest photo transfers possible from your computer.

Using the built-in 2.5" LCD color viewer gives you greater control over your photo results. Just insert your compatible memory card into one of the built-in card slots and view your images in full color. As needed, the Pixma iP6220D Photo Printer will automatically correct for red eye, improve sharpness and enhance the light values on your subjects' faces. Or, you can fine tune the images yourself using the easy control panel. Then, print directly from the memory card! You can also print directly from a PictBridge compatible digital camera or DV camcorder.

The Canon ChromaLife 100 system combines the Pixma iP6220D Photo Printer's FINE print head technology and newly developed inks with select Canon photo papers, with results rivaling that of many conventional photos. I purchased this product for Christmas from Staples as it was cheaper at the time. I am in love with this printer. It creates high quality photo's quickly. It has several great features included and does come with handy software for making adjustments either on your PC or on the printer itself.
One thing I must say however, is that the type of photo paper you are using makes a HUGE difference. Epson Premium Glossy is by far the best when used with this. It is, in all honestly, difficult to tell the difference between a digitally printed photo and a traditional film photograph.
The printer itself is very cost effective for those with a budget in mind. The only thing that is missing from the package is the much needed USB female/female cord to attach it to the pc for a direct pc print.
The unit does take several types of memory cards and has a very clean viewing screen.
On board controls are very user friendly and even has some extra nifty printing features such as sepia toning.
I really recommend this printer for those wanting an outstanding photo at an even better price!

Purchased new from reseller for less than $50. Picture and text printing are outstanding. Easy to set up. LCD screen is clear and informative. Footprint is a little big and printing speed is not the fastest but great second printer for use with my laptop. I have a primary multifunction Canon which has been printing reliably for 2 years. Certainly worth the cost.
