Good all around printer for your point-n-shoot digital camera,
By ZRRIFLE (Washington, D.C.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Canon PIXMA iP6310D Photo Inkjet Printer (Gray) (Office Product)
This is an excellent all-around printer for those who aren't too demanding in their choice of quality printers. It's perfect for the average family person who just needs the convenience and ease of printing what was shot with the digital camera over the weekend. Don't get me wrong - the output of the final results are quite impressive (especially now that it's under $60), but for those who have a more demanding eye for perfection and need more 'professional' results, this may not be the printer for you. For instance, I was originally going to purchase the new iP6700D which is touted as an ideal printer for the digital SLR user, with higher resolution and number of nozzles compared to the iP6310D. However, if you don't want the hassle of changing and maintaining 6 individual ink tanks at approximately $14 apiece, this iP6310D is probably the route you want to take, as it only has two inkjet tanks (approx $25 apiece) to worry about, yet has the 6 colors (3 grouped in each tank) like some of the more costly models.
Overall, I'm really satisfied with this printer, especially for the price, and the quality of the printed product. My only tip is, use the "Vivid Photo" option under printer settings to get more vibrant color.

It's working for me.,
This review is from: Canon PIXMA iP6310D Photo Inkjet Printer (Gray) (Office Product)
I needed a simple, inexpensive printer to print out my personal photo's. When factoring in the 2 included inkjet cartridges, this printer is just about free. The photo's it's printed for me look fine to my non-professional eyes. So far, I'm very happy with this printer as opposed to the utter frustration I experienced very quickly with my prior HP all-in-one. I had received the HP for free when I'd purchased my Macbook, and I had nothing but problems. However, this Canon has so far not given me a single problem, and the cost of replacement cartridges seems very reasonable. I recommend this printer for anybody needing a simple photo printer for low volume use.

So far I am pleased with this product. It arrived undamaged and much faster than I had anticipated. For an inkjet printer the quality is really good, though somewhat slow. It is easy to use and install. I have had some trouble with printing as the paper in the tray was not feeding properly. After working with it for a while I finally got it to work. I have not used it to print photos yet, but so far I am pleased.

Was nice while it lasted - no real tech support.,
This review is from: Canon PIXMA iP6310D Photo Inkjet Printer (Gray) (Office Product)
I needed a new printer ASAP after my old one just stopped working. Wonder of wonders, Amazon had a special on the Canon PIXMA iP6310D that day. The reviews were good, the price was better.
I have now had this printer as my main printer for several months, and the things I like about it are: -Very clear page prints -Ease of use (loading, tray, set-up, etc) -Size and design The things I don't: -Fairly noisy -Takes a while to print a page, noisily wheezing back and forth, even before starting to print a page -Photos come out with definite pixel lines Short story? Great for home office use, printing pages, etc. If you need something that will print good pictures, keep looking. Edit: Printer now is jamming every time I try to print. I have tried contacting Canon Tech Support after following all the online help areas, but have yet to receive a response after several emails over the past couple of weeks. Really disappointed.

for a photo printer, this isn't the greatest printer. I can't tell the differance in the pictures my epson C84 printed to what this one prints. however this printer is much faster. another thing, it only has 2 ink cartrages. if you are looking for a good photo printer get one that has 4 or more cartrages.
all in all it is a good printer, but I don't think its worth the price.

This item is really good for the price. So far I have tested both photos and text. The photos have come out with much better color control than the do it yourself crap that you find in retail chains. I read in one review that you should use the vivid picture control in the included software. Honestly it doesn't make much of difference. The tool that does help is the noise reduction and feature smoothing. For text, it is what should be expected from a printer designed for photo printing. Text will look better on high quality paper. I just happened to find a place getting rid of the Canon High Resolution Paper for clearance. Anyways, this printer is a great deal for the price. I think getting printer cartridges might be hard unless you go to Best Buy or shop online.

fine photo printer for non-professionals,

I've had my iP6310D for four months now and I am perfectly happy with it. I am not a professional photographer and use a point-and-shoot camera. The printer does a nice job of printing these types of pictures. I would suggest using the Canon 52 photo ink cartridge for high quantity printing. I would estimate that I've been able to print approximately 30-40 photos (4x6 size), I don't know if that's a lot or just a little.
Easy to use, quick to set up. Someone complained about the noise and slow speed of the printer. Really, these are very small issues for the price. This item can be bought as a refurbished printer, which I've seen for 50% less than the list price for a new one. If you can get this kind of deal, then this printer is really a good buy.

This product has been a pain in the a**. The cartridges don't last, the color cartridges have lasted for about 1 picture and it will print with 1/2 color and 1/2 black and white. I've also had problems with the Canon scanner. I just bought an HP and it has been a dream compared to this.
