4.0 out of 5 stars Does a nice job + good value
Since I was mainly looking for a case to protect my camera from the accidental drops when I'm not taking pictures, I'm pretty happy with my selection. (and I have dropped it from a height of maybe 2-3 feet onto pavement with no harm to my camera.) A couple of details:

3.0 out of 5 stars It's just not for my style.
When I purchased this Canon case, Amazon did not have a picture available yet. So I gambled.

Here is my personal verdict. The case is made of good leather quality and looks elegant. From distant one might think it is a purse for the ladies. Inside it has two pockets for storage of memory cards and another for a spare battery.

Since I was mainly looking for a case to protect my camera from the accidental drops when I'm not taking pictures, I'm pretty happy with my selection. (and I have dropped it from a height of maybe 2-3 feet onto pavement with no harm to my camera.) A couple of details:

1) The picture on the website seems to be a much darker grey than the actual case. The case seems to be more of a heather grey.

2) The case has a little zipper in front that it is perfect for storing additional memory cards and battery packs. It's well designed as after you open up the zipper, it has two pouches inside so your memory card/battery fits in snuggly.

3) The case protects the camera reasonably well. However, on one side of the case, it is open (probably so the camera cord is not covered by the case. This side is held by velcro. Generally pretty good, the velcro sometimes comes apart if not velcroed well.

If you're looking for a case that protects your camera when you're not using it, I would say this case does the job. However, it does not shield the camera (slightly open on one side) and it basically just makes your camera larger (not as easy to put in your pocket yet not so large that you can carry it around your neck, etc.) All in all, if you're looking for a general case, this is probably a pretty good choice.

Here is my personal verdict. The case is made of good leather quality and looks elegant. From distant one might think it is a purse for the ladies. Inside it has two pockets for storage of memory cards and another for a spare battery.

This case lacks a shoulder strap (duh!). To substitute the shoulder strap the wrist strap of the camera (mine is a S-10) is then used when the camera sits tightly in the case and its strap hangs outside at one side of the case. The flap, when closed, leaves its sides uncovered. In my opinion, dirt or water splashes can easily enter here and damage the toy.

I'm looking for a new product.

The case looks fine but it doesn't fit the S300. Learn from my experiment and wait for Canon to come out with a new case.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Perfect Little Case, December 12, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon PSC-100 Soft Compact Case for S100, SD110, S200 & S230 (Electronics)
This is a great little case for a great little camera!

If you bought the canon s100, chances are you got it for its amazing balance between small size and big performance. Get the case for the same reason: this case fits the camera snuggly, protecting it without adding much bulk, and has all the features one needs from a camera case.

The case has a front zippered pocket with inside mesh sections for those extra CF cards and batteries. It is made of thick, good quality fabric - it provides good coverage and protection to the camera. I won't have to worry for my camera's safety while carrying it in my purse. The case has a little space on the side of the case to let the wrist strap hang out, making carrying the camera when its in the case a non-issue.

I love this case - its going make it possible for me to bring my digicam along even more of the time. I can't wait!

After reading the reviews here, I started looking for another case--I never found one. I finally gave in and decided to give this one a try--I love it! 1. It IS a snug case, but you bought this camera because it is small, didn't you? Buying a big case defeats the purpose of the camera. 2. It sits on your belt horizontally unlike most other cases--vertical cases get in the way when you sit down. 3. It seems to be of very good quality

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Pouch for your Elph, January 14, 2001

This case is great if you need added protection for your s100. Another reason to get this case is that it looks great and matches "the coolness" shall I say of the camera itself. The case fits the camera snuggly as it was custom built for the camera. I wish this case was included with the camera since I still have to buy an extra battery and at last a 64mb card for my camera. This options are adding up to a pretty expensive camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case, September 6, 2002
This review is from: Canon PSC-100 Soft Compact Case for S100, SD110, S200 & S230 (Electronics)
I was so anxious to get a camera case I almost bought a generic case for my S200 from Best Buy. Good thing I waited to buy this case, as it is far superior to any generic case I could have bought. This case is the perfect size for my Elph, it does add size to the camera, making it harder to get in your pocket, but the belt clip works great, so its hardly ever a problem. Good color for the case, and the front pocket holds enough to help out when you need another battery or flash card. The strap still comes out of one of the sides of the case, so you can still use it. Not a case to protect from the elements, but it will protect from impacts VERY well. For it's price, less than the generic cases, and its great fit and quality, I would most definatly buy this case again if my current one were to ever wear out or become lost.

I feel that if you spend the money for a Canon Digital Elph, Canon should at least include this case as part of the package, but, since they don't, this case is the best on the market if you're looking for a small compact case with no extras. After purchasing my camera and shopping around for a case, I came back to this one. Perfect fit, extra battery pouch (almost mandatory), good feel and look. The belt loop on the backside allows the camera to be carried in a horizontal position which I like. The camera itself fits easily in a pants or shirt pocket unprotected, but for backpacking, camping or vacations a padded case is necessary. Other reviewers have complained about the velcro closure on one end but I think I prefer that over a closed end due to the carrying strap.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great little case for the money, June 6, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon PSC-100 Soft Compact Case for S100, SD110, S200 & S230 (Electronics)
This case is ideal for the digital elph. The mere fact that you have purchased a very small camera is the same reason that you would want this very small case. Size matters!!! regarding the case, it protects the camera and has a handy little zippered compartment in which to carry your extra memory and battery. The only downside of this case is the velcro, used to hold the camera in the case, which in my situation of having used it extensively has come loose. There is really not much danger of the camera falling out at the moment, but eventually I will need a new case. Fortunately, they are inexpensive, and I will buy the same case again.

This thing is great! It fits the s100 perfectly. You can wear it on a belt like a "holster", which is perfect for guys because we don't have purses to throw a camera in. A few suggestions: don't carry both a memory card and a battery in the front pouch at the same time. It makes it too bulky. Also, when velcroing the camera in, push the front and back of the case together as far as possible before letting the velcro touch. In conclusion, a great buy for [for the money]!
