Fits the SD780IS perfectly,

If you have a Canon PowerShot SD780IS12.1 MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5-inch LCD (Black), get this case immediately. The camera itself doesn't come with any protective case so it'll be good to have this case for protection. It is made specifically for that camera so the fit is excellent. The magnetic clasp is convenient and holds firmly.

Fits SD940 IS like a glove ...,

Reading the other review, I was skeptical if it would fit my new SD940 IS - which I really love for it's size and handling. Anyway: I can confirm that PSC-1050 fits SD940 IS like a glove. Yes, the handle-string needs to be pulled all through - on the way in&out - which is normal and no big deal from my point of view. Then the flap closes perfectly = nice and snug. It's quality leather will protect the camera perfectly w/o making it bulky. A bonus would have been a small pocket in the front or whereever for an extra battery. With storage cards in the range of 16 GB which I usually can't "fill" in a month of vacation photos, there is no need to constantly carry another card arround. But, the battery is a different issue. Mine are usually drained after a couple days - and I really like to drain them fully to keep their life up. Therefore, yes, I have been running out of "battery power" from one day to the next and therefore a small clever pocket for a spare battery would be A BIG PLUS on every camera case. ... other than that PSC-1050 is perfect also for Canon SD 940.

Works well for SD940IS.,

Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, this case accommodates my SD940IS very well. It is initially a little tight (just as all leather cases) but as long as you put the cord through the hole in the case, it works beautifully. If you don't thread through the top hole, then it will not close securely. Perhaps this could be easily solved by getting a different camera cord that didn't have a plastic component?
SD780 measurements: 87 x 56 x 18 mm (3.4 x 2.2 x 0.7 in) SD940 measurements: 89 x 55 x 20 mm (3.5 x 2.2 x 0.8 in) Yes, the SD940 is ever-so-slightly longer (2mm) and thicker (2mm) than the SD780 but I can verify that the case does in fact fit my SD940. Extremely high quality case.

Excellent quality, perfect fit and great price. I looked at the offerings in retail stores and didn't see anything nearly as nice this case.

After reading some of the other reviews I wasn't sure if the magnetic flap would close if I used this case with the SD940IS. The SD940IS is 2mm longer than the SD780IS. Well, don't worry it fits the SD940IS perfectly like a glove and the flap closes just fine. The first time when it was straight out of the box and I closed the cover, the magnet didn't catch. Then I pushed the camera inside a little more snug, and I pulled the flap a bit. Then it snaps shut every time, if you just give it a little tug the first few times to "break it in." Now it just naturally falls into the right position to catch on the magnet. So if you have the SD940IS - I say go ahead buy this very nice leather case.

Doesn't fit sd940is as both amazon and powershot.com recommend,
This review is from: Canon PSC-1050 Deluxe Leather Case (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this case since it was recommended to fit the new sd940is by both amazon and [...] (canon's site). While you can shove the camera in tightly (a little bit too tightly), good luck getting the flap to securely shut. To make matters worse, it's a magnetic snap, so unless the flap makes direct contact, which it can't, it doesn't hold. I prefer velcroe flaps (like other generic cases have). Now I'm stuck with a case two days before my vacation that doesn't work. *sigh*

Great case for the SD780 IS Canon camera,

The case fits perfectly the Canon camera SD780 IS. I saw somebody saying that it is somehow difficult to take the camera out from the case and here it is what I do. I do not pull the camera wrist strap through the hole in the case when I know that I will use the camera. I use the wrist strap to pull the camera out of the case. It comes nice, quickly and easy. I wear the case on my belt most of the time.

Fits the Canon PowerShot SD780IS perfectly. Don't think it would work with most other cameras. Pretty minimal case, but does its job (protecting the camera). The wriststrap sometimes takes some fiddling to get it out of the slot, so it's not the fastest to get the camera out. But overall very good.

I first had the case used for the SD780 which is a perfect fit. Then I upgraded to the SD940 and bought another one. The SD940 is slight larger but none the less the case fit. The trick is to stretch it out. I put a pack of cigarettes (which fits very snugly) just to stretch it out for a day. Now it works fine.
Does NOT fit the SD1400

Canon Deluxe Leather Case PSC-1050 is perfect fit for SD300, SD1000, but not 300 HS,

Canon PowerShot ELPH 300 HS is now my third Canon PowerShot camera, and Canon Deluxe Leather Case PSC-1050 is now my third Canon leather case. I received both items today, 2011-08-09.
My prior two PowerShot cameras, SD300 and SD1000, appear to fit in this case just perfectly -- pretty tight, but once in, reasonably easy to remove and with the magnetic cover working as one would expect. The case being entirely brand new, the cameras do take a little while to get inside, most effort concentrating on getting the sides of the case open up for the cameras to fit in, but once that's accomplished, it's easy way in and out (that is, until you need to put it back in once again). Unfortunately, this new case clearly doesn't fit 300HS for which it was supposedly bought -- the rough nature of the camera's surface area makes it quite difficult to remove 300HS from the tight PSC1050 case (with either the camera's battery compartment opening up when you try to remove it, or the power button going off when you try to fit it in). Also, 300HS appears to be much longer, so the magnetic latch can never engage with the 300HS camera being inside the case, and the cover always remains popped. The case itself is pretty nice and seems of good quality, I might use it for SD300 or SD1000. One word of caution: based on my prior experience with SD300 and its PSC-90, due to the case cover being half size and the magnetic latch extending from the cover, when you open the case and get the camera out, the LCD of the camera will invariably be touched by the magnetic latch of the inside part of the cover, which, in case of SD300 and PSC-90, seems to have resulted in a few noticeable minor surface scratches on the LCD (the LCD still works perfectly without any visual artefacts -- you could only see these scratches from the reflection). Based on this, if you really care about the virgin look of your camera and are extra cautious, I'd recommend a full cover case, PSC-1000, which I've used with SD1000 and never noticed the metal parts of the magnetic latch ever touching the LCD. I have to say, though, that PSC-1050 does look really cool and awesome. But for my 300 HS, I'll probably just get another PSC-1000, in a different colour than my prior one. (To be fair, it'd be much nicer if Canon actually released a new case for 300 HS, since the form factor appears to be noticeable different from prior PowerShots, so no cases appear to fit, even PSC-1000 hardly fits 300 HS, due to 300HS being too long). |
