My wife appropriated my Sony point and shoot for her permanent use and since my digital SLR is an EOS Rebel, I decided to stick with Canon. I am no great photographer and mostly use my cameras as a means to an end which is painting. The size of this camera is perfect for me. Much bigger than the Sony but still small enough to fit in a pocket. I really like the LCD screen that turns around to protect it or flips out like a video camera and also rotates to fold into the back slot and then is used like most p & S cameras. Most functions are similar to the EOS and are easy to use and see. Not that it makes much difference but I love the look and feel of this camera.....slightly retro and a little weight to it. Feels substantial. A nice balance between a p & s and an DSLR. A little pricey but worth the investment.
