By comparison to similar priced/featured Nikon, Panasonic and Olympus, the SX150 (14MP, 12-zoom) produces superior pictures. Specifically, the SX150 produces clearer, crisper, photos with more finite details in side-by-side comparisons. I took pictures of the same scene using my SX150 and the other cameras, then compared the photos using Photoshop. The SX150is won hands down.
For 5-years, I've own & still use the Canon SX110is (9MP, 10-zoom); the SX150 is a step up.
I am really impressed with the quality of video it takes. It produces vivid color video, great audio and the optical image stabilizer works great. And I think the ease of use is second to none. The camera weight has a feel of substance and quality, though it might feel a little heavy to some.
I bought my camera and deluxe bundle from Beach Camera through Amazon and it included a small digital camera & gear carrying case, a Hi-Speed 4GB secure digital SD memory card and a 3pc. lens cleaning kit and was delivered in 4 days, with free shipping...all for $150.....wow!
I would recommend, as others have, to purchase rechargable batteries to use with the camera. I used 2 sets of standard non-rechargable AA batteries in the camera before the rechargable batteries and charger arrived. They didn't last very long at all. But, with the rechargable batteries I've taken about 100 photos and about 1 hour of video and they yet need to be recharged, well worth the initial expense which isn't that expensive anyway.
This camera lives up to the Canon reputation of quality and value.
Thank you for your product.

I like the camera, bought it to take to South Africa, the only issue I have is that it uses a lot of juice, had to change the batteries every 50 pictures.Published on February 17, 2014 by Fabi

I bought the camera as a gift to my son. I used it for few pictures and I found the view horrible; very dark and confused. But the picture came out very good. Read morePublished on January 15, 2013 by Carole Daoust
