Canon Sure Shot 35/80mm Camera - Not So Sure,
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot 38/80mm Camera - 80U (Electronics)
I bought this 3 years ago just before a vacation. At the time it was misrepresented as a zoom camera. It is NOT! What it is, is a dual lens camera. This means you have only 2 positions (35mm and 80mm) no other choice. It's not so bad but rather dissapointing when you expected zoom. Now to the type of pictures it takes. This is not my first automatic camera - it is my fourth but the first COMPACT camera I've bought. I must warn you that it has some bugs. Some pics will be crystal clear, others blurred (for not apparent reason), some will be dark even if taken in sufficient light. All I can say is that I was not happy at all with my vacation photos and wished I had taken my heavy clunker automatic Pentax which has never failed me. The only thing I liked about this camera is the size - it weighs almost nothing and fit nicely in my shoulder bag.

My First & LAST Canon,
By
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot 38/80mm Camera - 80U (Electronics)
My sons and I purchased A Canon Sure Shot80 for Mom for Mother's Day. It's less than a year old and the time delay between the shutter opening and the time you actually push the button has slowly becoming a joke, but we're not laughing. The moment your trying to capture is lost while it tests the light, zooms and a 2-3 second delay for the flash. Where is a good ole' Yashica FX-2 when you need one? If there is a brand out there that lasts, is quality through and through and you would reccomend it after owning one yourself for a while, please pass me a note at dfjjj@att.net. Thanks

Great for 1 Year,
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot 38/80mm Camera - 80U (Electronics)
I bought this camera and was very pleased for about a year until I went on vacation and could not take pictures. The digital display has an H. Instructions do not tell me what that means. I have tried batteries and film, but it will not take pictures any more. I thought the Canon name meant something.

OK but broke quickly after warranty expired,

I bought this as an upgrade from a supermarket $35 model and found the picture quality sometimes better, sometimes about the same as the much cheaper camera. After over a year, the H error code started flashing in the lcd. I can now take one or two pictures at a time before I have to remove the battery in order to reset the camera. The flash often fails to work even with brand new batteries because I have tried new batteries and film. Sigh. The warranty had expired so I am left with an $80 piece of junk. Fortunately, my cheap camera had not sold at our yard sale so it's back in service. I am sorry that Canon is now making disposable cameras and marketing them as durable.

Best point-and-shoot camera I've ever owned!,
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot 38/80mm Camera - 80U (Electronics)
This camera takes great pictures! I've owned several point-and-shoot cameras over the years, and none compares to this one. It's sleek, lightweight and easy to use. I've been extremely satisified with it and find myself taking pictures all the time. Everyone in my family swears by Canon cameras and my sisters and brothers each have one of their own--it's a terrific foolproof little camera. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a non-digital camera.

I just developed my first roll of film from this camera and I have to say I was surprised how well the pictures turned out. The pictures had nice color and clarity. We bought this camera as a back up for our digital when we go on vacation. I was not impressed with the fact that we had to buy the battery separate. The other thing I disliked was the viewfinder seemed difficult to use. I have spent more money on junk cameras though, so this one is all right for average-joe-picturetaker I think.

It is a very cute little camera but... I was not satisfied at all with the pictures it took. I went to Vegas on vacation, now imagine with all the lights!! it just took very bad pictures. It is very difficult to work if you are not the owner of this camera. good luck with it!!
