5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Camera
I am one of these guys that owns too much camera equipment, I did not need another camera, but when I saw the Z90 I just couldnt resist it, very good looking camera and and not too expensive, I bought it, since then I have shot 5 rolls of Fujicolor 400, in every roll the pictures were unusually sharp, right on with focusing and beautiful color, in every respect this is a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected More
I have had this camera for a couple of months now. Some of the pictures that I have taken are beautiful. The colors are bright and the picture crisp. However, the other half of the photos, mostly outdoors shots are grainy. The camera is easy to use in the Auto mode, but the other functions are difficult to learn. It is also a little heavy and bulky. I prefer a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great compact camera!, April 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot Z90 Zoom 35mm Camera (Electronics)
This is a great zoom lens camera for the size. Its very compact and easy to handle. You can select a preset focus or use auto focus to decide how close or far you want your picture. The camera knows how much flash to use - all you need to do is focus. For the camera-challenged, like me, this is a great camera. The pictures are crystal clear and I haven't blurred one yet.

1.0 out of 5 stars The camera I received does not have Caption function., October 2, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot Z90 Zoom 35mm Camera (Electronics)
I bought this camera 20 days ago.
I thouht this camera is really good for the price.
But, when I received this camera, the camera inside the box
did not have caption function. It was the same model but without caption function. You can easily see if your camera has caption function by seeing the LCD panel.
First time, I thought there was a mistake so I asked replacement and received new one. But, the second camera has the same problem also.
I asked customer service to explain about this. But, they told me simply return the camera for refund.
Since I purchased this camera, the sales rank of this camera have been around 100. It means this camera have been sold to lots of people.
I am not sure the problem I mentioned has been solved or not.
And also I would like to know if there is anybody else who claimed the same problem as me.
We need sincere answer from the Amazon.
Am I the only one who received wrong(without caption) camera twice ?

3.0 out of 5 stars Look before you leap, September 27, 2002

I am writing this review based on my initial impressions after purchasing the camera and receiving it in the mail.
The first thing I must say is that for a ...(msrp)camera and a very cool looking picture (looks like brushed aluminum) I was not expecting a silver colored plastic camera. I think the picture of the product could have been a little bit better represented.
Furthermore, Amazon.com is offering this as the Canon SureShot Z90 Caption when in fact you get (or at least I did) a regular Canon Sureshot Z90 (without caption). Yes it is a good price, but with these two factors I gave it an overall 3. If I had known it was going to be ... plastic and not the model I paid for I would have purchased another camera.

2.0 out of 5 stars A disappointment, June 10, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot Z90 Zoom 35mm Camera (Electronics)
I shopped and shopped for a camera that I would use a on a big 6 month trip I was taking. I decided on the Canon because of the superior lens and wanted a clamshell, for the durability. However, with this camera, I found that the clamshell lenscover would often slip out of groove and thus even when I would "open" the camera, it would not get triggered to turn on. So I'd have to open and close it a bunch of times in order to get it to work. Then, after about a year, the camera started to take fuzzy pictures all the time and neither a tripod, new batteries or faster film seemed to fix it. I am so irritated that I spent the money for a camera I got so little use out of.

5.0 out of 5 stars No caption, still worthwhile, January 13, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot Z90 Zoom 35mm Camera (Electronics)
on this page. I, however, purchased the camera knowing full well that I would not receive the caption model, and I still suggest that this camera is a real deal.

So is the camera any good? Without question, this is one of the greatest finds around. All the pictures I've taken, in a variety of settings, have come out remarkably clear. Outdoor, indoor, closeup, etc. It has a variety of modes for those who like to tinker with settings, but the camera also has an "auto" setting which chooses the best mode for your shot. For example, it will use fill-in flash or full flash, or switch to closeup setting. The redeye reduction feature is great, not an annoying flashing light.

I've owned quite a few cameras, and it took me a while to realize that if you're going to purchase a camera with a zoom lens, you'd better be willing to shell out some cash. The cheaper zoom mechanisms/lenses are just that- cheap; they'll break easily and they don't take clear pictures. It's clear that this camera is an upper-tier model, despite the low price.
Overall, this camera is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy in China, May 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Canon Sure Shot Z90 Zoom 35mm Camera (Electronics)
I had my camera broken by accident in China and I did not want to miss out on the chance of taking an excellent picture. I was quite surprised at the variety of Cannon cameras available in a smaller city here. The people at the store were quite knowledgeable about the product. I was very happy with the service and quite surprised at the ease of using the camera and the truly wonderful pictures it has given me. I will recommend your products and especially this particular model of camera to all the foreign teachers and travelers that come here and ask about a good camera. Thank you for listening to me.
