can i give this one a negative star?? okay, the price was amazing for the camera... so thats mainly why i bought it. when i got it, it worked somewhat. when i put it on video mode it shut down (yes i tried a bigger memory card) and sometimes the screen would go black and not turn back on... even if the camera was on. so annoying. i even got it checked out at a camera store and they told me it probably wasnt new which it said it WAS. so i had to send it back. TERRIBLE. but i did get a full return.

"Err 01-Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contact" message appeared and locked the camera after about 10 pictures an hour after I opened the box. It's going back.

Both the T2i and T3i have a serious flaw recording video. When the sensor gets hot, the camera randomly stops. It can be a few seconds, or a few minutes, but neither can be relied upon to record video all the way to the end of the 12 minute clip limitation. Stills are not a problem.

I owned this camera for a year and half and I can tell you there are far better camera's for your money. What I especially didn't care for was the washed out colorless images starting around ISO 1600. Also, the camera says its rated for 3.7 shots per second in continuous mode, but the reality is that canon put a very small buffer in the T3i so it fires off 3 fast shots and then slows to a crawl, Funny thing is even the store models do that with no SD card in them! I think my biggest complaint with this camera is simply that it is overated and over priced for what you get. I sold mine and purchased a Pentax K-5lls which is definately a step up price wise, but even the Pentax K-30 that two aquiantences purchased offer better image quality, pentaprism viewfinder, faster continuous shooting (6 vs 3.7) that actually works, weather sealed body, in-camera shake reduction so EVERY lens placed on the camera has shake reduction, in camera lens correction for front or back focusing issues, and two scroll wheels for much faster and easier adjusting of things like ISO,shutter speed, and aperture. The T3i does have the artuculating LCD screen that was a very nice feature, but it doesn't come close to making up for all the features offered by the Pentax offerings.

Received the camera as a gift and it has never worked. Attempting to return for repair and the Canon representatives are having a field day forcing me to jump through hoops due to no receipt. Have you been a given the receipt for a gift? There website states that without a receipt it will slow down the RMA process but DOES NOT state that they will require anything else for proof of purchase. It also doesn't say that they want to charge you $200 to repair a product that is currently under warranty! I was told that a copy of the warranty card would suffice for proof of purchase and am NOW being told that it's not enough. Canon - you not only have lost a good customer, you will lose many others with an attitude such as this!

We purchased the Canon Rebel T3i last July, and also a Canon SX50is last year. I take a lot of photos for work, and needed both a DSLR and a super zoom. I've been using Canon cameras for years, but we'll be switching to Nikon now.

The auto focus stopped working on the Canon Rebel T3i in August, about 13 months after purchase. My eyesight isn't good enough anymore to create sharp focus manually. That is the major issue, minor issues include rubber coming unglued from the camera and limited time being able to record. And my Canon SX50is had the lens hood fall off (among other things), though fortunately it still works.

I'm done with Canon after many years of being a loyal customer.

This camera has decent qualities, but I expected much more out of a canon rebel. Photography is my hobby and I was really disappointed in this. Auto focus was a joke. It took FOREVER to focus anything automatically, had much much better luck with manual, however I have animals and a 5 yr old son I like to photograph and this camera couldn't keep up! When you are taking photos of objects that don't move the photos turn out beautiful. Not to mention the camera's focus is extremely loud, obnoxiously so! Wish this was better because usually I love canon....

Bought this item in July 2011, tried turning it on recently and it froze, pulled the batteries and not it does not turn on, really disappointing at this , just thought that i would get alot of years from this camera since i never dropped it. I am thinking about sending it in for repairs.
