4.0 out of 5 stars solid case for your s95 December 28, 2010
I've used 4 different Canon made underwater cases -- none have ever failed. So when I saw the first review, I for some reason thought they might be right -- but no, this case is just as solid as all my others. Took it down to 80 feet on several different dives, no leaks, no problems.

My only gripe with the case is because the S95 is more complicated than the standard point and shoot -- the knobs are a little difficult to figure out, especially underwater. You can use the large dial which is a little clunky on the left side of the case. You cannot use the little wheel option to navigate quickly through your menu choices (the S90 lacks this little wheel).

I've used the flash in the case and it works surprisingly well for macro shots. Obviously, not so hot for underwater landscapes. If you aren't a pro and just enjoy taking your camera with you for your dives, then this is your case. I was surprised at how much better my photos looked compared to my previous cameras/cases!

Cheaper than the Ikelite version? Yes. Are you getting what you pay for? Yes. Does it do what it promises to do? Absolutely.

1.0 out of 5 stars No warranty from Canon August 9, 2011
Be aware before you buy this product that Canon offers no warranty on underwater products ... even when it is defective ... and I just learned today. My housing has permanent condensate between the two layers of the faceplate right over the lens opening, making it impossible to take photos. Canon's reply when I asked for a replacement was in essence tough luck but we're not going to do anything about it. Even though I had bought it a month ago. Luckily I bought it from Amazon and they let me return it. Not buying a Canon replacement. Spending more for Ikelite ... and that is because Canon's customer service is terrible. It is too bad because I thought it was a decent housing for the money and I took some really nice photos while using it. But I cannot recommend purchasing a product that gets zero support from its manufacturer.

I spent a lot of time agonizing over various enclosures for the S95 - nearly nearly went with the Ikelite - but at the last minute figured that buying an enclosure that is going to long outlast and cost more than the camera is like putting a $50 000 fence around a $50.00 horse... So glad I did - this box outperforms all my expectations... And if you're clever, the little fact that you cant turn the ring selector on the rear of the camera doesn't even mean anything. I learnt that Canon put shortcuts and hotkeys on their cameras so you don't need to be able to move, turn, press or poke each button or bezel underwater - you just use the shortcuts... too cool... Have put some pics up for you to see what the enclosure (and camera) can do... Also Amazon rocks!!!

P.S. just search for the shortcuts on Google - they're all there!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great waterproof case December 14, 2010

Works pretty well. I can see two flaws. Obviously the flash won't work that great because the barrel lens of the case will shadow it for part of the picture. The other one is kind of minor, but you won't have access to the main dial button, I mean you won't be able to turn it once the camera is in the case. Could be annoying if you're used to use 100% of the feature of the camera.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic case; highly recommend August 2, 2011

I used this case with my S95 when I went to the Bahamas on a dolphin adventure in mid-July. It performed exactly as expected. It's easy to use and care for; it kept the camera completely safe and dry; and I was able to get some spectacular shots both underwater and from the boat with the camera in the housing. I used it for snorkeling, only, so I can't speak to how well it does at depth. For snorkeling, it was perfect.

Worked well. Small space on the right side that will fit a very small packet of desiccant . Took it diving to 20 meters and no leaks. Got great pictures snorkeling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a champ, no leaks. September 25, 2012

I bought this housing in preparation for a vacation in the South China sea (at a resort in Sanya, China). While there for two weeks, I used the housing in the resort swimming pool, on the beach, snorkeling, diving (only down to 60 feet), and taking pictures in the rain. The housing is not too bulky, about the size of an SLR camera with a short lens. The key, as with any waterproof housing, is to keep grit/sand from the o-ring, and to clean and grease the o-ring before each use. When I went diving, the dive shop wanted to charge $50 to take and print out some pictures for us. I just held up my camera, and smiled.
The case makes it possible to use almost all of the standard controls on the camera. I did change the strap to a more comfortable wrist-strap, which made it easier to handle. Overall, I'd highly recommend this camera and case for underwater pictures, or for any time that conditions are bad for the camera. For example, dust storms, rain storms, whitewater rafting, etc.

Oh, and I went camping in the Sierra Nevada range, and spent a nice afternoon taking pictures of the trout in the stream. People at the camp were amazed at the pictures I got.

You don't really need a scuba camera to take great underwater shots. Very compact and light, check the cameras manual to adjust white balance and go!
