It is native 1920 x 1080 CMOS sensor and lets you choose 60i, 24p, PF30, and PF24 frame rates for customizing the look of your footage. It's not broadcast quality but depending on what you are using it for, you'll never know the difference. It's a great camera, easy to operate and has served me well in the corporate environment I've been working in.

No, 1920x1080 is the max. However, 2K is very close to 1080p (height difference of 72 pixels), so don't write it off completely.

You can buy adapter but keep in mind this camera with proper lighting is hands down best camera I ever used and I'm a camera buff

Yes, to access, you have to leave the monitor door open (careful!) and access the sliding a/v door. I use two 64gb PNY SDXC cards for better performance capturing HD video. Hope this helps, James!
