It is very nice to have more versatility when considering audio input. This gives you that plus a shoulder pad. I feel it's a tad short. At 6'4", it could just be me though. It also has the capability to attach a bracket to add more goodies to your rig. Overall, very useful and highly recommend.

Lets say that after purchasing the Canon XL1S fro the same people this XLR MIC ADAPTER Item functioned better than the Camera Which continues to eat tapes, Of course the 350.00 to 500.00 dollars I WILL NEED TO SPEND ON REPAIRS AND SHIPPING ARE OF NO IMPORTANCE TO AMAZON......
