For her second release, Danielle Peck proves that her first cd which featured several great tracks was no fluke. If you're a fan of songs that truly tell a story, sung by a great artist, then you'll love this project. Danielle will have you bouncing along and then will turn around and touch your heart, then pick you back up again. My faves are "Bad For Me" which was the first single sent to radio, the current single and title track "Can't Behave" in which Danielle takes to task her man who just can't behave, and "She Just Likes To Cry" which will absolutely break your heart. For you that prefer your music "fiesty", you'll love "Get You Back", "Brick By Brick" and "You Like Me Better". Another stand out track is "Do It For Me", and if you've got someone in your life who's dealing with any kind of addiction this one will most definitely grab you. All in all this is an excellent second release and I think it shows Danielle is an artist with staying power and definitely someone that Country Radio needs a lot more of! Download now and ENJOY!

Prime Cuts: Do It for Me, This Is Not Goodbye, That's What Angels Do

Peck's packed for success: Signed to Nashville's most lucrative label, Big Machine Records which houses music history's triumphs Taylor Swift and Reba McEntire, Peck is in good hands. Further, "Can't Behave," Beck's sophomore CD is helmed by red-hot producer Jeremy Stover (Jack Ingram & Justin Moore). Added to all these pluses is that Peck has an unmistakable Shania Twain sensuous vocal hurl that works well to fill the lacuna considering that Shania has not a new single in ages. Nevertheless, to the chagrin of Peck and Big Machine Records, this CD's vanguard single "Bad for Me" failed to crack country top 40. And it's not difficult to discern the reason why. Despite all the high profile gloss, "Bad for Me" co-written by Will Rambeaux and Sherrie Austin, panders on the mediocre melodically. With such banal lyrics: "I like shoppin', but my purse sure don't/I like wearin' high heels, but tomorrow my feet sure won't/These are just some things that I love that are bad for me." "Bad for Me" sounds more trite than inspired. As a result of radio's tepid response to the lead single, "Can't Behave" has been repeated delayed and finally it only sees the light of day via a digital release.

Perhaps Big Machine Records is justified not to release CD conventionally as there's nothing here to really salvage this CD from its current lack lustrous status. Though there's nothing really ropey about this batch of songs, it's just that there isn't a single track here that spells hit or manifests any hint of melodic mastery. A few tracks only marginally passes master, this includes the second single the melancholic "Do It for Me." Despite its irritating (and unnecessary) change of chords, "Do It for Me" allows Peck to belt out with a heartfelt desperation that is stunning. "This is Not Goodbye" is an excellent example of how country music takes real life vignettes at their bittersweet best to weave together an inspirational ballad that ought to move the toughest of hearts. Peck shows her mettle for big balladry with "That's What Angels Do," a popish and somehow non-descript number.

Rachel Proctor (who co-wrote Jessica Simpson's latest single "Remember that") teamed with producer Jeremy Stover to pen "Get You Back" which starts off slow before picking up speed in the chorus to great effect. Incidentally "Get You Back" also appears on Rachel's "Where I Belong" CD from a few years back. Despite its banjo Keith Urban-intro, "Brick By Brick" is let down by its wall of noise created by its incessant ear-popping drums and string of clichés. The title cut, "Can't Behave" has potential to work well with its propulsive melodic structures but somehow falls short.

Relative to Peck's stellar debut, "Can't Behave" is a major disappointment. These songs are by no means offensive; it's just that there's nothing incendiary enough to irate or heartfelt enough to change lives. They just merely fall into the din of recyclable pop-country noise that is easily forgettable in no time. Drop the high profile veneer, adopt a more earthy producer (such as Tony Brown or Keith Stegall), and select stronger material, this will pack a better punch for Peck.

The long-awaited (too long) second release from Danielle Peck finally arrived in the world just in time for Christmas. It seems the delay was due to the first single from the album ("Bad For Me") didn't do as well on the charts as the label would have liked. Honestly, the video was fun and was her best-performing video on the GAC countdown reaching the top 10, but after listening to the entire album, I rate it as no better than the 7th best song. There are too many good songs with real stories here to key on a first song like that one. And the only reason it's a justifiable first track on the album is they decided to order the tracks alphabetically (didn't think I'd notice that one, did you?)

Like I said, this album has songs loaded with real meaning, songs that make you think, and may remind you of somebody you know. Do you know anybody who is battling an addiction of some kind? Play "Do It For Me" for that person and try to make a difference. Do you know somebody in an abusive relationship? "She Just Likes To Cry" is going to hit you right between the eyes. Do you know somebody trying to raise a child as best she can as a single parent after the father walks away? "This Is Not Goodbye" will have you in tears.

The title track, which will be the second single from the album, was written by somebody who knows something about writing modern country hits, Kristen Hall. It's a fine choice for a single, but I'm really hoping that the next single after that one is one of the three I mentioned previously. Vocally, Danielle is too good with the soulful (and sometimes heart-wrenching) songs (think "I Don't) to be constantly pitched to country radio with songs that may be dance floor material but are far too shallow by comparison to her better material and don't show off her impressive voice at its best.

Ive been waiting for this to get a UK release even on download since its release in 2008 and am still waiting, for some reason we cant download off Amazon US, please Amazon make this available for UK fans

Danielle's 2nd CD, "Can't Behave" is awesome! I love it! She has been singing some of her new songs at concerts and got everyone excited!! Great voice, talent, and personality!
Defnately going to buy for family & friends!

I loved the first CD, Can't Behave was even better. For a good time you can't beat Bad For Me & Get You Back.
