I will say this, I don't think Gary Penn covers any groundbreaking territory or anything someone in therapy hasn't been told if their therapist is halfway decent. What he has done is create a succinct, well written, perfectly organized guide to managing anxiety. It's a swift breezy read and a great primer to those who are just getting a handle on their problems or to those who have spent years and just need a refresher. I've bought multiple copies since reading and given it to friends and family, all have felt the same way.

If you're like the millions of men and women who wake up one day and realize, "Wait a minute. This isn't the life I wanted. And I'M part of the problem," then this is the book for you. Dr. Gary Penn is an authority on how our beliefs affect our behavior and what to do to change the dysfunctional patterns in our lives. The good news is, we ARE part of the problem and with Gary's help, we can shift and show up differently for ourselves. Amen!

This is a great book! It's an easy read filled with valuable insight and information made simple and concise. Dr Gary Penn has written a book that's helpful to anyone who's just starting out on their psychological journey as well as anyone just wanting a mental tweaking. Written in a no-nonsense style, it cuts to the chase with just the right amount of humor.
