Holding on Tooo Long....Hurt Not Love,
By
This review is from: Can't Get Enough of You (Mass Market Paperback)
Jenna Marie Gaines and Scott Hendricks have it all...great careers, nice homes, financially stable and good family and friends. You'd think they would be happy but that's not the case. The college sweethearts have locked up the love they have for each other in their hearts and are basically alone and heartsick. They try to rekindle what they had with Scott's initiation but Jenna acts like she doesn't want the same...always finding a reason why the relationship wouldn't work after 10 years. There is a nice love story buried in the repeating of how Jenna made on her own at least every other chapter and how she was afraid Scott would hurt her again in the chapters in between. This book was a struggle for me...due to the repeating of the things mentioned above...I felt Ms. Ford struggled writing it, causing the repeats...also feel 50-100 pages could have been eliminated or filled with what was going on with other characters, such as Sherri Ann and Laura,or even Jackson that she just threw in and discarded....JLO. 3.50 * rating.

I don't know where to start, I have been waiting on this novel since "After Dark" and it is so worth the wait. I loved that Scott stood the test of time and wore down Jenna even after the big misunderstanding that Lenna(Leah)caused. I am glad that Leah redeemed herself a bit, but sister would have gotten a family beat down from me!! I was very happy to see big brother Lincoln added to the story line as well. And then to give us an update of Taylor and Donald as well as all the other related novels Ms. Ford has written was simply just undesribable. Well done Ms. Ford!!! Thanks a million!!!

Horrible attempt at a fiction novel instead of a romance book,

I have love bette ford other books. All of them but this book disspointed me on soooo many levels. I'm not sure why its so overly dramatic or why it seems as if her writing style changed but I hated it. I felt like I was reading a horribly written fiction novel. The people were all over 30 with established carrers, in this book. I find it hard they could act as dumb an immature as they did. I swear Jenna (the heroine) was breaking or almost in tears, every other scene. It was long and drawn out and didn't make sense half the time. Why after finding her brother would she not tell him when she found her sister? And it was really like her 30 twin sister who was living with a pimp had not one lick of sense! Like she was a teenager. I'm suppose to believe someone who moved out at 18 has NO street smarts after 10 years??? Really? I really hope this isn't how her books are going to be in the future. I do recommend all her other books or books by Francis Ray, Brenda jackson or Beverly jenkins

I have been waiting for Jenna and Scott's story since After Dark came out in '03. Jenna moves back to Michigan to become a professor at the college where she and Scott met and where their relationship ended. He wanted and was chosen for the NBA but she wanted to finish her education. He has now retired from the NBA and has moved back home to get his college degree that he promised his parents he would get. He runs into Gina and the feelings are still there. He helps her find her siblings that she has longed to find every since they were all put in foster care when their Mom died and their Dad walked away. She finds them both but her twin sister is jealous of all that Jenna has accomplished and decides to take her man or at least break them up. What she does is low down and causes not only problems for Jenna and Scott but it causes a deep divide between the newly found siblings. A serious car accident causes Scott and Jenna to see that their love can survive anything as long as there is love and trust. As far as her twin sister Leah, she has learned that her selfish actions lead to deep consequences. Great story!

Just okay.,
This review is from: Can't Get Enough of You (Mass Market Paperback)
This was just okay. For me it started out slow and dragged on for a bit. Jenna was WAY to uptight. Good grief! She was on my nerve more than half the time. I felt like Jenna was a bit immature. I got tired of hearing about how she accomplished everything by herself and how she was a success because of herself and so on and so forth. I thought that she stayed angry at Scott for way too long. I mean he was 19 years old when they were in love and she really didn't give him a chance to prove his love way back when. Leah (Lenna) would have gotten hurt at the first sign of a push up on my man! I didn't read the first book, (I didn't know there was a first until a web search) but I wouldn't just write this author off completely.

It was nice to see Donald and Taylor in this book after reading their story in After Dark. Now Taylors little brother Scott gets his second chance at love with his college sweetheart Jenna. Jenna's relentless search for her siblings finally paid off. Although Leah proved to be untrustworthy, she still reconnected with her and her big brother Lincoln. It took a tragedy to finally get Scott and Jennn back together, but better late then never.

Can't Get Enough of You,
This review is from: Can't Get Enough of You (Mass Market Paperback)
Jenna Gaines's lifelong dream was to teach at her alma mater in Detroit, and to find her two long-lost siblings that she had been separated from when they all went into foster care as young children. At one time she thought that her future plans also involved a marriage to Scott Hendricks, but that all ended when he chose to go into the NBA without her by his side. Just when Jenna was on the verge of making her dreams come true, Scott reappeared in her life determined to right his wrong. Will Jenna open her heart once again to rekindle a love with a man who once deeply broke her heart?Bette Ford has written an emotional, compelling tale about second chances in Can't Get Enough Of You. The plot was your typical romance, filled with plenty of drama, envy, betrayal, love and -most of all - forgiveness. Although Jenna and Scott had spent many years apart, the love was never lost between them; nevertheless, it took a lot of convincing on Scott's part to re-win Jenna's heart. And, let me tell you, that it was a very hard road for Scott to travel. Jenna didn't have an easy time either. Between her torn desire to be or not to be with Scott, she was also stressing over the possible reunion with her siblings. All in all, Can't Get Enough Of You was an enjoyable read. Nice Love Story,
This review is from: Can't Get Enough of You (Mass Market Paperback)
The two characters in the book Jenna Marie Gaines and Scott Hendricks seem like they just have it all together. They have the nice careers, money, and fancy homes. But with all of that they still were not happy and had issues like every other couple. The couple is having trouble with finding the love that they once had for each other and is wondering if they should continue on with the relationship. This story is such a great love story. It gives couples that have been together for awhile and that are going through problems some really good advice. It also lets couples know that they should give each other a chance and not focus so much on the negative things in that occur in their relationship.
