With a voice like an angel, Julie Carmona Young's debut is a musical and lyrical breath of fresh air. This collection of ten original songs has a way of working its way under your skin and by the middle of the album you feel encouraged, full of hope and more able to handle the challenges of the day. Includes contributions by Billy Joel's drummer - Rhys Clark, bassist - Keith Rosier and Ricky Z on guitars. Julie completes the band with her own masterful piano delivery and intimate sound. Composer/Arranger Neil Argo adds lush honest string lines that complement Julie's songwriting and delivery. Julie's music invites and encourages the weary heart to appreciate the peace of God in all of us. In a hectic and troubled world, it's nice to stop for a moment and listen to an artist that offers some calming solace and a fresh poignant sound.

I really enjoyed this CD. Julie's clear, airy, vocals bring a contemporary sound to the uptempos, and add a beautiful "haunting" quality to the ballads.

"Just like Job" really spoke to my heart. "Today I discovered a new scar.. I know I don't appear to be so breakable, frail, or weak ... But between you and me, I'm undone" - What I love about her lyrics is their honesty.

What I love about her melodies is their ability to transport me. This album does it's job in making the listener contemplative while listening.

This is a great collection of songs.
