I really didn't know anything about Willie Willis when I bought this CD, but being a typical blues fan, I decided to take a chance.Boy, am I ever glad that I did! It has turned into one of my very favorite CD's. This CD captures a live performance of Willie and his band in Dallas. Nothing flashy, just a bunch of close friends who love to play the blues. Willie has a restrained, cool approach to playing and singing, but it's all too apparent that he loves to play the blues. His constantly weaves improvisational references to members of his band, he especially loves to kid a bandmate named Hashbrown. All in all, good natured fun with the blues, captured during a live performance. If you enjoy straightforward blues, played in a live setting by a sincere bluesman......buy it now. |
