A terrific book that pulls you in from the start!,

I love this book. And I am not even that much of a baseball fan. The author's insight into plausible interactions between a (female) rookie ballplayer and the other players, managers, and sportswriters make this a compelling book.

This is an intelligently written book with a complex setup, dynamic characters, and an intricate plot. Perhaps a little bit too intricate, but it still makes for good reading with a cup of hot cocoa.
