Wynonna has justly earned her reputation as one of country's strongest and proudest women. With this new single, however, she reveals another facet of her personality not often seen - one that needs and wants to be loved. Here she conveys a message of strength tempered by her love for another.

The single begins with a stark, lush piano, accompanied by Wy's quiet and pleading voice. Additional instrumentation seasons the second verse, including an adequate dose of steel guitar, something missing from Wy's recordings of late. These two verses build to an emotional chorus, where the listener is able to glimpse Wy's strength and vocal power, set against the whisper of her three backup singers. The song concludes where it began - with a soft combination of Wynonna's yearning voice and glittering piano.

Billboard's review of the single calls it "a classic Wy ballad, teeming with warm-throated passion and understated charm. The lyric is a simple, direct expression of love and devotion brought to life by one of the most distinctive voices in the format."

It is always amazing to see what the wacky world of Wy brings us. She is an artist that sticks true to what "she" wants and not what Nashville wants. Her sales have slipped but if you really listen to them you will know why she sticks true. This single is the first we have heard from Wynonna since "Woman to Woman." And is it worth the wait. How Wynonna's vocals soar to new heights on each new song is amazing. The song makes you dig deep within yourself to analyze your own feelings about love and life. But the real bonus on this single is the flip side. Her version of Joni Mitchell's "Help Me" is so awesome and shocking that you swear it's not Wynonna. Just another example of why the talented Miss Wy is THE woman to reckon with in 2000!

All I have to say is Wynonna's new single is just beautiful! Her version of "Help Me" she sounds a little bit like Joni Mitchell-great cover! Can't wait for the full cd.
