5.0 out of 5 stars A Guilt-Free Guide to Understanding Why We Eat & How to Stop
I like this book because the author recognizes there are many different mind-sets that lead to overeating...and she's been there! For all of these she prescribes a variety of emotional remedies to suit every personality type in a simple, straight-forward style. She talks very knowingly about the sense of lack and hopelessness that one must be ripe to address before a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Didn't really learn anything new

The book gives different scenarios and then tops them off with suggested visualizations,(some of these visualizations by the way, are a bit hard to swallow, they...

I like this book because the author recognizes there are many different mind-sets that lead to overeating...and she's been there! For all of these she prescribes a variety of emotional remedies to suit every personality type in a simple, straight-forward style. She talks very knowingly about the sense of lack and hopelessness that one must be ripe to address before a healthy body weight can become a permanent way of life. As a psychotherapist and weight loss program innovator she has collected many anecdotes which should provide great inspiration to anyone ready to feel deserving of a healthier future for their bodies. (She also helps us deal with the fear of being attractive again!)

The concept of self analyzation is a good one. However, if you are someone who has been struggling with this issue for a lifetime, like myself, I doubt it will really tell you anything you don't already know. The book gives different scenarios and then tops them off with suggested visualizations,(some of these visualizations by the way, are a bit hard to swallow, they seem extremely corny ). so, I guess what I'm trying to say is , if you haven't spend a lot of time researching the ills of overeating, then maybe you will get something out of this book. Otherwise, hmmmmmmmmmmm???????????
