Yes...short, but sweet and swinging,

I'm not quite sure what Prestige was thinking about when they released this LP, clocking in at around 35 minutes, but nonetheless the title track as well as "Castle Rock" are worth the price of admission. This is one of those trios that can not seem to ever do any wrong. Red, Paul Chambers, and one of my favorite drummers - A.T. Arthur Taylor - simply turn everything they touch musically into gold. What would be nice would be a 2 CD set combining this and "Red In Bluesville".

Another solidly swinging set from Red, Paul & Art,

Red recorded many sets with Paul Chambers and Art Taylor in the late 50's and early 60's, and this one swings as hard as any of them. Though brief at under 35 minutes, all of Red's trademark techniques are well displayed here. Mr. P.C. takes a few melodic solos, providing almost as many compelling moments as the leader. Art gets his licks in also, particularly on "Blackout", the lengthy closer.
