Good for the genre, but this band has some growing room., August 7, 2009
This CD offers nothing specatacularly innovative to the indie-electronica screaming genre. Everything is done decently, the melodies stick, the screaming is well executed, the clean vocals are decent, and there is enough order in the chaos of electronic noises, guitar, and drums to showcase their inherent talent. Some of the songs on this album are brilliantly put together, with an almost orderless cacophony of synth sounds and screaming- flowingly seemlessly into a driving breakdown or catchy melody. On the other hand, some of the songs are wrought with such ridiculous lyrics and/or lack any kind of melody or cohesive sound, that they are worse than filler, they are worth deleting to avoid the annoyance of having to press a button to skip them everytime they come up, which you will. This band shows great potential, but I can't, in good concious, give this album a higher review, when there are several tracks on this already short album, that are complete garbage. This cd is worth the purchase price, and I expect, with their growing success, they will have a little more production value in their next album.

Finally Something Refreshing To A Scene That Was Sounding The Same, June 13, 2009
I stumbled across the name of this band online and became curious because it was such a outragious name. So I went to their myspace page and my ears heard something I hadn't heard in a long time, something different/original. I was first suprised that the band consisted of two members, and that alot of the sounds were programmed. So when I went to their myspace page, I just hit play on their music player and to my shock, the music was catchy, heavy, brutal, and even melodic. Now don't think this is another iwrestledabearonce, far from it. To me this band represents at times what a screamo band should sound like, catchy, emotional, and makes you wanna sing along, or scream. I grew up on poison the well so when I think screamo, alot of what is considered screamo today to me isn't. Now I set my friends on fire deliver's a screamo feel that I had forgotten about. For example the song, things that rhyme with orange has to be one of the best songs I have heard in a long time. Now they also deliver on bringing the heavy and grind, and even smack you with some breakdowns. This cd gives you everything and in the best jaw dropping way. They do not ruin any genre, and have impressed me very much. I can't wait to see what their next album sounds like.

Exciting and Refreshing, March 1, 2010
This album has been in my regular rotation since it was released. Every song on the album is fun and does something different: there's rap, metal-breakdowns, cheesy 80's sounding pop, and even a synth-induced interlude. Sure, there are some songs that are better than others; however, as long as you go into this album with an open mind you will not be disappointed. Everyone who gave this below three stars needs to rethink why they listen to music in the first place.
