5.0 out of 5 stars Hott Story!!!
I agree with the comment on the back of this book that states 'sinfully delicious and hard to resist' and I am not talking about the desserts that Kaycee Jordan makes either. Kaycee is a young woman who starts her own dessert business after leaving the Corporate world. Kendrick Thompson is an ex pro football player who is her next door neighbor. After a not so pleasant...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just OK for Me
Loved the characters, they were mostly well-defined. Hated, hated the prose. It often plodded through unnecessary description and lots and lots of awkward religious references.

Kendrick's daughter was a flimsy character, as was the entire connection Kendrick had to their family. And the best friend gets dropped halfway through the book so the main characters...

After a not so pleasant meeting, she finds herself at his business establishment trying to get him to accept her business proposition. After both of them tried to fight the growing attraction, they both give in and become a couple. With a lot of oppostion from her parents because of an incident that happened long ago involving Kendrick and his daughter not liking the romance between them, they fight an uphill battle but love conquers all. This was a great story. Kaycee's best friend Sidra is an interesting character too so I am hoping that Lisa will do a follow up story about her.

Kaycee Jordan and Kendrick Thompson meet under less than ideal circumstances - well unless you consider the idealness of Kaycee's purely feminine, dropped-jaw response to a shirtless, buff Kendrick. But considering Kaycee is at Kendrick's door to complain about his un-neighborly behavior, they are not off to great start. However, when Kaycee discovers that Kendrick is the man behind the business she plans to convince to allow her to provide baking services, they come face to face again and soon are unable to deny their obvious attraction.

The road to happiness for Kaycee and Kendrick has numerous roadblocks, however. The most powerful of which is their families reactions to their age difference. They have to decide if their draw to each other is stronger than their families trying to pull them apart. I enjoyed immensely riding along to see what the winning force would be.

"Can't Stop Loving You" by Lisa Harrison Jackson is a charming read that pulls you in from the very page and doesn't stop satisfying until the very end.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Love Story, July 17, 2007
This review is from: Can't Stop Loving You (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
In this novel, Lisa Harrison Jackson lives up to the title of romance writer. "Can't Stop Loving You" is a superb love story about an older man and a younger woman who falls in love despite their 19 years age difference. Kendrick Thompson, a former pro athlete turned café owner, was handsome, with a body built for holding on to--sculptured and chiseled. Kaycee Jordan, owner of Soulicious Gormet Desserts and Event Planning, is irresistible with a body that is tall lean and delectable. She has a dubious encounter with Kendrick, her neighbor who turns out to be the one person who could help grow her business. Soon, their obvious attraction to each other spills into their work relationship and then comes the days and nights of pleasure. But when their developing relationship causes strife between their families, Kendrick and Kaycee must decide which is more important, following the wishes of their families or following their hearts. Jackson has a cool writing style that endears the reader to the characters. Her descriptions of the scenes make the reader feel as if they were actually there witnessing the story unfold. The novel is in paperback, easy to read--about 300 pages. Highly recommended.

Loved the characters, they were mostly well-defined. Hated, hated the prose. It often plodded through unnecessary description and lots and lots of awkward religious references.

Kendrick's daughter was a flimsy character, as was the entire connection Kendrick had to their family. And the best friend gets dropped halfway through the book so the main characters can go through their changes. Lots of details that could have been explored weren't, such as Kendrick's NFL career, how they worked out raising a fmaily, and Kaycee's shifting morals.

I think this was a debut and will give Ms. Jackson another shot. I cared about her characters, I just didn't connect with what happened to bring them together and keep them apart.
