Mandy takes EACH tune in this CD and makes it her own.
Charles K. Kostyra
When you combine Mandy's great voice with the beautiful songs of iconic singer/songwriter Don Gibson, the end product is a very special collection of songs.
Ted Irish
She will keep the flame burning, unless she like others changes her style and no longer gives us such a treat.
Nancy Sawyer

I just had breakfast at my local Cracker Barrel..here in Gurnee, Illinois..and purchased my copy of Mandy's new CD..All I can say is this one is a "keeper" and perhaps one of the BEST Country CD'S to be released this year!!What she has done with"Blue Blue Day" is worth alone the purchase of the CD!!It is an instant classic...taking an uptempo tune..and making it a ballad ALL her own..Don Gibson would be proud!!.With the help of Allison Krause doing background vocals..and Charlie McKoy on harmonica... this tune will become a tune that you will hum all day!! ANOTHER stunning version of "I'd Be A Legend In My Time" will bring you to tears..In a good way..Mandy takes EACH tune in this CD and makes it her own.A difficult task with tunes we've heard for years!!.EVEN with the Familiar ones like" I Can't Stop Loving You" and "Oh Lonesome Me" you feel like you are hearing them for the first time!!Also..she has chosen several tunes that Don Gibson wrote that were unfamiliar to me..making this one of the BEST country CD'S this year.A perfect Holiday gift..ONE that will keep on giving for years to come..

Calling this album karaoke is a cheap shot. Mandy's introducing classic songs to a new audience without destroying the original intent of the music and in doing so making them her own. Blue Blue Day for example, can't be called a copy by any stretch. It comes off as totally fresh yet still manages to pay homage to the original. I believe this is a fantastic album and is SO removed from the drivel that passes for country these days! I wish this was on the radio, but that's not where the pea brains in Nashville are at. Mandy should be a big star. That will only happen if you and me, the internet shoppers, make it so!

This is a modern-day Patsy Cline (Mandy Barnett) doing a program of songs perfectly suited to her by arguably the second-greatest country singer-songwriter of all time (Don Gibson). It doesn't get much better than this. And it's beautifully and lovingly produced by Mandy Barnett herself.

There are too many highlights to enumerate, so I will just mention her remarkably original phrasing on "I Can't Stop Loving You" and the magnificent final seconds of the closing song, "Legend in My Time."

Recorded in Nashville with a group of A-list musicians behind her. Also note that the harmony vocal on "Blue Blue Day" is provided by Allison Krauss.

Did I say, "It doesn't get much better than this"?

[Fans of this album should also appreciate "Balladacious" by Amy Francis (2012).]

What passes for country music via the Nashville corporate market is a far cry from the songs of Don Gibson and somewhat far from the archetype country voice of Mandy Barnett. But this is a voice to savor, one of the best in the whole of country music past and present and this homage to the songs of Don Gibson is something very special. Beautifully sung, with exquisite and very sympathetic backing and a spectacular production which showcases her voice perfectly, Mandy stays faithful to the songs while putting her little vocal touches where she thinks the songs need it. The big hits are here, Oh Lonesome Me, I can't stop loving you, Sweet Dreams, Lonesome No1 and the highlight for me, Legend in my Time. This version is as good as it gets (and only Timi Yuro has recorded a version which matches this one) A fabulous record, and would have been a contender for album of the year if I had known of its existence in 2013, rather than 2104

Love Mandy's voice, I cannot understand why she is not a bigger star.
There is not one song on this album that I do not like...
I have all of Mandy's CD's and this one is the best.

I first heard Mandy on BBC Radio around ten years ago and have been a fan ever since. This wonderful album has been worth the wait - the sheer quality of the songs, arrangements and Mandy's exquisite voice deliver an album that is traditional country but also box fresh and attention grabbing. Proof if ever proof was needed that beautiful songs treated right always sound great and I am sure Don Gibson would be very proud. Absolutely stunning.
