5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful.
Can't Stop has always been my favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers song. It's amazing, and I have always enjoyed what the Peppers put as their B-side tracks, whether it's unreleased songs, or live never-before-heard jams. You can simply never go wrong.

I like to buy Peppers singles because they always put interesting b-sides out with them. This one features 2 live tracks. I like to buy Peppers singles because they always put interesting b-sides out with them. This one features 2 live tracks. "Right on Time" is more exciting live than the original album version complete with "London Calling" by the Clash as an intro. The other track "Nothing to Lose" is a cool jam very similar in places to the end of "Seach and Destroy" from their "Off the Map" DVD. I prefer the one on the DVD but this one is still solid and has more of Anthony improvising than the DVD version.

4.0 out of 5 stars All around great single, January 24, 2004

The title song, Can't Stop, is a great song, my favorite even before the album came out. With it becoming a single it's been widely overplayed so I don't like it as much now, but I still must say it's a great song.
Live b-sides are never as cool as unreleased tracks, but this single still stays cool even in spite of that.
If you've never heard the Chilis live, you will probably love this version of Right On Time, especially the Londong Calling (originally by The Clash) intro.
The third track is a live improvisation. After the ending song, Search & Destroy, it's pretty common for them to engage in an extended (7-13 minutes) to end the show. This is most definately the best one of them. The four members make no obvious mistakes when improvising, and even the improvised lyrics by Anthony Kiedis fit in nicely. The only one of this jams that can even be compared to this one, in my opinion, was the ending jam at Bercy, Paris. But this is way ahead of them.
For more of these jams, check out the second version of the Fortune Faded single, the other Can't Stop single, and the Californication single, which all contain some of these.

"Can't Stop" was the third single from the Red Hot Chili Pepper's "By the Way". As was done with every other single, it was released in two parts, in this case each part contained two live tracks. This CD (with the red cover) contains live versions of "Right on Time" and a jam titled "Nothing to Lose".

The title track, one fo the most overplayed songs in Chili Peppers history, finds the band exploring a vein similar to their past, with a pseudo-rap vocal and a somewhat cleaner take on their old funk-punk sound. It's an ok song, but they've done better in this vein.

"Right On Time" live featured an intro lifted from the Clash's "London Calling" before blitzing straight into the frantic piece. the closing track is an extended live jam with stream-of-consciousness lyric from Anthony Kiedis and a full-on wah-wah excursion from John Frusciante in between largely improvised verses. Remarkably, for something improvised, the band lays down a steady and powerful groove.

The live tracks definitely make this one worth getting, both of them are quite good.
